Nuts, The dogs are gonna have to go!! Got to the club about 3:00pm, sighted in and decided to go hit somewhere different. I went to the top of the 400m range where the field meets the woods. Sat down facing the ravine so the field was to my left and the logging road to my right. Started calling with the handheld callers and after 40 minutes had a Gray come bustin' down from where the guys treehouse is. Heart was thumpin' away as it trotted to within 55 yards and plopped down on a log looking in my direction. After about a 2 minute standoff it let out a bark and took off in the direction it came from. At the same time I hear a crazy rustling coming from behind me up from the range. I thought "Oh gracious it has got to be a Coyote" when out of the corner of my eye those freakin' dogs ran right past me heading straight to where the fox had been. Needless to say I was FURIOUS !! Next time you will just have to shut your eyes or look the other way but they are going down. On a brighter note the new Browning is a pleasure to shoot. Not too loud, no recoil and moderately accurate with the Remington loads. I need to find some Winchesters since everyone says they are much better and throw tighter groups. Give me a call before you leave I need to ask you something. |

I have seen 2 BUELL's on the road here in S.Fla so far. Yesterday a 12R (no helmet, tee shirt, shorts) and a 12S today. I just can no longer reside in these heated lattitudes, makes me sick. And to all I say see you soon. NUTS |

Looks like a new cap in somebody's future! Sooo... The folks go to an auction last weekend, and I pass on the opportunity to find some peace and quiet. A couple hours later the phone rings. Dad wants me to "bring the trailer". I get there to find out the the auction was at a repair shop for those Chinese type battery or gas powered scooters/choppers that you see for sale everywhere these days. Pops done bought about four or five nearly complete bikes, and several other "parts" bikes. Monday, I get home from work, and he has two bikes in ridable condition, and a third needs a funky drive belt but runs great. Two are gas powered and one is electric. I start poking and digging through his stash of parts bikes and what do I find??? A brand new pocket bike!!! I remind you that this came from a "repair shop", and it's missing a footpeg, and the clip-ons(yes it has clip-ons) need attention, but it runs beautifully(read: loud and high speed) It's a good thing I'm a short dude, I might actually be able to ride the 16" tall beast. I'll try to get a pic or two if it ever stops raining. Tank |

Tank, I'll trade you a Coon skin cap for one of those mini choppers. I'll even throw in a genuine raccoon scrotum change purse to sweeten the deal. Just let me know. P.S. Since a raccoons' scrotum ain't that big you can only carry two dimes and a nickel so keep that in mind before making your decision . |

Jackie, The ones that are currently operable have already been spoken for. The first was my 7y/o nephew. The possibility is good that we may get two more of the choppers up and running, but I believe they are electric, and they are not in good shape(I know how picky you are with your bikes.. ) I'll try to get some pics up tomorrow. Tank p.s. I would've thought the coons around here had some pretty good sized nads, the way they like to play chicken with cars?? |

Nah Tank these are mountain coons'. I guess they don't grow big nads because they don't have any cars to play with . Nuts, The riding is over for a while. They are putting salt down by the truckload as we speak. Course' you could always go riding and see what salt will do to those pretty aluminum cases and jugs. You've been grounded buddy!! Ya'll be careful driving back once you hit NC and into VA. Not much accumulation but it is all ice. |

Jackie, Time to take Nuts out in the snow and do a little "bunny hunting". You might even cross a track on your elusive cat. Kinda like skeet shooting, but with rabbits.LOLCharlie |

...chirp...chirp... I passed on a ride today so I could crash the "new to me" pocketbike in the gravel driveway. Don't ride a pocketbike in the gravel. My knee hurts a bit, and I have a couple small cuts and bruises, but for not wearing any gear, I fared pretty good. I know I'm a , but I got her fixed up, lit the fuse and rode it into the ground, literally. I bet it would do much better on real pavement. It suprised me how fast it is. It was just barely peeking at the powerband when all hell broke loose. I could almost call it a tankslapper(no pun intended) if it wasn't on gravel. One day, I'm going to "gear up", and get pops to chase me around the neighborhood on his golf cart. Maybe I should get someone to do video?? Tank |

Hey Tank, Sounds like your a thrill seeker, how about taking it with you next trip to the "Dragon". Take it to the top, kick it outta gear and see if you can make it to the bottom(in one piece)LOL. Would think that would fill anybody's thrill quota for the trip. Should have several camera's placed through out the route for posterity and bragging rights. Please just keep Nuts away from it(you know how he is)those knees would be up over his head and all you would see would be a pair of wheels, a big red boot, all in a blur.Charlie |

There exists photo and video footage of just such an event. My brothers in Florida each have tiny pocket bikes. It's especially fun hitting speed bumps at speed. Those things'll run 35 mph: with those little slicks on there it makes for real interesting entertainment. On the full size bike front I got the Buell up early and took it down to Tuggles Gap via Bent Mtn. The entire ride I had Patsy Cline's "Crazy" running through my mind. "Crazy Crazy for riding so early I'm crazy for tryin I'm crazy flyin and I'm crazy for riding Uly" It snowed on the way home and that was a pleasant surprise too. I have contacted Buell Customer Service about my pinger and they seem interested to get it corrected. Hopefully while the weather is less than optimal. NUTS |

Jim, Nuts informed me that DaveS was opening an archery shop. That dude must have the hunting sickness worse than I do . Nuts, Just looked at the calendar whilst walking past the fridge and noticed the girls have a dentist appointment Wed.. Unfortunately this means I can't pick them up early tomorrow since they will only be going half a day Wed.. Looks like all the squirrels in the woods belong to you now but you better leave the bobcats alone if you know whats good for you. If it ain't too windy I may meet you up there after I pick them up. Should be able to get there by 4:00 which coincedentally is about the time predator hunting starts. Imagine that! |

Jackie HELLOOOOOO! Check out this link. http://www.svkc.org/show1info.htm Fellas, I have to report... I'm not worthy of your good advice. I got Buell customer service involved with my Pinging Pal Uly and they have found the static timing advanced by 4 degrees. Hopefully this is the only deficiency with the bike and the problem will not resurface. If it does I have Buell to fall back on. Special thanks go out to Jackie and Charlie who continuously attempted to steer NUTS in the right direction. Thanks to Seth and Keith from RVHD&B for lending a hand in their own special way. With squirrel season over I have PLENTY of time to get to racking up the miles on the "Dark Menace!" |

Nuts, I'm glad you have finally resolved your problem with the PING DEMON. Hopefully before too much internal damage. Now you can quit babying the"Dark Menace" and let it have it's head.LOL Maybe you should "tattoo" your insurance info on your forearm first. Just on the side of precaution, past experiences and what not. Can you get "Onstar" installed on a ULY, just a thought.Charlie |

Glad to hear it Nuts! While pre detonation will shred your top end in a hurry I doubt you did any real damage because you always let off as soon as it started pinging. Besides if you end up bending a valve or blowing a piston it will give you an excuse to get the 07' heads and a big bore kit . If you still have time get them to replace the rivets with screws so it will be easier to access should it need to be retarded a little more. So are we going to that fine looking event or what? I am going today to get the taxes done so will hopefully be able to buy something purty! |

Charlie, Still here and still Buell loyal (even though I ain't rode since the beginning of November). I just managed to seal up a deal with a fellow named Saintly here on Badweb for some black rims. In my mind that will make it the baddest yellow and black mama jama on the road. Nuts is getting crazy ideas in his head and has been talking a lot about dirt bikes. I've tried telling him we ain't youngsters anymore but he won't listen. I'm scared for his safety since he ain't used to riding mountain trails on a dirt bike and may get a wild hair to do some jumping since I told him about my high flying antics from my glory years. Try to talk some sense into him Charlie since he won't listen to me. I also signed up over at Twin Valley Riders and am pretty excited about hooking up with the group when it warms up a bit. Did you know any of the guys or gals in that group? Jason says I should be able to keep up with some of them but then again, he always says that just to suck me into going. So how's things down your way? Getting much riding in? |
