Yeah...if my wife lets me keep the Lightning. I think she will. I am actually thinking about putting Sharkskin bodywork on it for the track. How are the bike projects coming, Sam? |

I got the Firebolt used from an old riding buddy back in KC. I still need to get pictures up! I have learned you need to talk to certain people at Route 66 to get parts, because some of them could care less about Buells (or they were having a REALLY bad day). Went there yesterday to buy some new sparkplugs and wires and you would have thought I was trying to buy them for a Yamaha R6 or something. The guy at the "PARTS" counter acted like I needed to know the part number if he was going to get them for me. Uhh...thats why I am asking him! Finally someone else helps me and we look through the catalog together and find the correct part numbers. Of course they had to order them. Maybe I will have them by next week. Oh, on a BETTER note. They have the NEW Buell STT on the floor. It looks much better in person then in the pictures I saw. |

Long time no talk! We have to plan some group rides soon, I will have my bike back together this weekend. We are more than welcome to use the HOG meeting room here at my dealership and can probably even use it after closing hours of the store. Drake, don't forget that I know a lot about these bikes and can easily order any parts you need. Plus the discount I will give you will cover the cost of shipping (normally still save you some money too!). It never takes me longer than 4-5 business days to get OE parts unless they are on backorder. My schedule will vary for the next semester but I will be at the dealership at least three days a week. We are supposed to get our TT in very soon! Chase (Message edited by Nasty73z on January 04, 2007) (Message edited by Nasty73z on January 04, 2007) |

Chase, Good to hear from you. I will remember that next time on the parts. How are you liking the job? I always thought it would be fun to work at a bike shop. Come on Spring! Next week is supposed to be in the 60's. |

I have also have had some blank looks at 66 when I ask for Buell parts. Even when I have the part number for what I am looking for it can go like this : We don't have that part number in our system...That may be because you have never sold or stocked it; lets take a look in the parts book. Most of the guys take that step without any help from me, but not all.

Go my spark plug wires. They arrived in about 1 week. Not too bad. Anyway, who wants to get together this week for a ride or something? Its the second week of the month. I'll check the weather. Suggestions? Maybe we should meet somewhere besides the dealership. |

The dinner ride would be fun, but I'm not sure if I'll make it up there or not. Hey if anyone is interested, we have a job opening in the parts department here at Forman H-D. If anyone is interested please call (405) 377-0045. Thanks! |

Dude it looks nice! You should just sell the Lightning and make the Firebolt into a street/track bike. Hell I may even try to race mine this spring in an amateur class WERA or CMRA event and just tape the damn lights up. I will hopefully get us a tent going and maybe even a Buell banner for some track days so we can have a place to chill. Oh, and pop those reflectors off the forks! Dtx, you just started, your gonna' just have to have more than one, or, two, or , um...three bikes. I'll have to find you a wrecked one to race, that is way to slick to torture. Sorry, I couldn't make it to dinner, I didn't get off work at EMSA on time. Girls get to have more than one pair of shoes right?!?! Where did you buy your stands? I need one or two(for XB's), I made one for my S-2T |

Here is the stand I made, rough I know, didn't have one to look at? This is my middle pic of the S-2T, working on the wheels, got some orange stripes to add yet, been too cold...blah, ice... Don't mind the Harley stuff in the background... |

By the way, Russ and Jose at Route 66 have been really cool about ordering all sorts of Buell stuff for me. They even ordered a parts book so I could have the numbers to buy the 2007 Cherry Bomb wheels and body work. One or two of the newer guys are not up to speed, yet, but, I usually show up with parts numbers too. As a matter of fact, Russ got Buell to send Route 66 a Buell Accessory catalog. |

Hey Medic, I actually got my stands from DaveS at Appleton. I can't remember how much they were, but it was a good deal since we get a badweb discount. I probably need to sell the City X. Does anybody know someone who would be interested? I think most of you have seen it. Its in GREAT shape. Let me know! Drake |

Brian, I love the GP shift pattern. I prefer it highly over standard, all three of my bikes have been run on GP shift. I find it is much easier to get neutral and it is next to impossible to miss an upshift. Stillwater Custom Powdercoating did my stuff. They guy there will go above and beyond to help you, he'll walk you all over the shop. They do a lot of the frames for Covington Cycles, the famed chopper shop in Woodward. I believe they are doing their new Discovery channel Biker Build-off frame. They are actually part of WheelDock Manufacturing, a company that makes motorcycle front wheel stands. They are located about 5 miles east of downtown Stillwater on highway 51. Tell them that Chase from Forman H-D recommended you. WHEELDOCK 502 Kinnick Rd. Did some upgrades to the Firebolt while being snowed in. New Spark Plugs and Wires. 2006 Belt Drive. 2006 Front Isolator Kit. Nissin 804 Racing Brake Pads. New Tires. Polished up some bits and pieces (header, muffler, heel guards, levers...I was bored!) These bikes really are easy to work on...and fun too, thanks to the service manual. |
