Mike, The actual event is being held at TWO in Suches GA. Several groups have cabins rented in the area and other are camping at TWO. If you're looking to mapquest for MBIV, look for Two Wheels Only Motorcycle Resort, Suches GA. See you in March!! |

so we can get back to TWO before dark. Those are some fun roads after dark. Shred and I rode up from Atlanta GA to Fletcher NC one day. It was 10 or 11 when we came back through the Suches/Turners Corner area. That was an adventure in and of itself. Not only was it VERY dark, there were hordes of bugs, by the time we got down the mountain the bikes and us were covered in dead bugs. |

There are several groups riding the Dragon Friday, March 30. They plan to ride during the day and then be back at TWO in time for Meet and Greet that evening. I think a couple of groups are leaving from TWO to the Dragon and back. The C3 group will be staying at the Iron Horse Inn and will meet up with everyone there Friday morning sometime. |

I have nothing to say at this time, just that the March Badness thread wasn't as near the top of the page as I thought it should be...... |

DRAGON RIDE FRIDAY, leaving from T.W.O.!!! ALL are welcome to ride!!! Plans are to be back for the meet and greet Fri nite!! I plan to ride a MODERATE pace! I will provide copies of the planned route for those that choose to ride faster/ slower. I will have at least 1, if not 2 planned stops along the way so we can keep together. On the way back, tentative plans are to come across the Cherahola Skyway (weather and time depending). If anybody has suggestions, please feel free to offer them up!! Shaker |

Looks like it's time for a Pre-Badness run. I'll take some pictures of the Lodge, and the area. Maybe even some action shots. It's mainly to give those that aren't sure if they can make, some incentive, and for those that aren't going to make it, well, they can see what they're missing. And for those that are coming, it'll give y'all something to look forward to.

That could very well happen, Brad. I think it's important to start easy if you're there for the first time. The roads have different 'rhythms' and 'textures' that you'll adapt to and have fun on, but it's all a surpise the first time. |

Brad - you will also find that is also a "ride your own ride" group. No one will be left behind. |

This is very reassuring to hear! I'm fairly familiar with the roads down there, but I am NOT familiar with this bike yet. I was wondering if I was going to get left behind on these rides. I should be able to keep up a moderate pace without much problem... But I'm not going to be ready to be dragging knee's or anything like that. After reading that, I am now TWICE as excited for this trip! |

Being as to how I am from the land of the flat and straight (Flori-duh), my "moderate" pace is probably on the slower side. I have survived 3 March Badness events and one other trip to the area and plan to be around for years to come. We get to the dragon, we'll stop at the store. Everyone can take the dragon at their own pace. Mine will be SLOW, but still fun! Depending on the amount of riders who leave from T.W.O., I will probably be seeking a few riders to serve as "Safety riders" spaced through out the pack to ensure that NO ONE gets left behind. Will the C3 group be riding back to T.W.O. from the dragon with us?? P.S. No one has shown an interest in the Cherhola Skyway. This road is another awesome road, situated relatively close to the dragon and we should be able to easily make both roads and still be back by dark. As we get closer, maybe one of the locals can chime in with some road conditions of the Skyway?? (Message edited by Paint shaker on January 12, 2007) |

Will the C3 group be riding back to T.W.O. from the dragon with us?? Oh yes, TWO is the final destination for C3. The few who are not riding the Dragon are heading straight for TWO. |

As Ulywife said, Yes will be riding back, our headquarters is only 5-10 min from TWO's. As she also said earlier, our group pushes the point of ride at your pace, if your slow then ride slow and safe, if your fast, ride safely. If we get to a stop we wait till the whole group catches up, same for turns and sideroads. If someone wants to pass, have courtesy and let them pass, I beleive the 3%'s have a signal from the person in lead if it is safe to go head and pass, but a I'll them chime in on that. Who all will be taking pictures and video. I will have one SLR and maybe two digital camera/recorders. I have a video of the demo route in Quicktime, tried to upload to Youtube but never could get it to work. Gonna try Putfile right now. |

No one cares that you were going "X" amount of speed. What we like to hear is all riders saying " man that was so kick A$$ " If we get to a stop we wait till the whole group catches up, same for turns and sideroads. I try to ride a different roads when I'm coming and going from place to place, so after the Dragon the Skyway sounds good to me!

This is the demo route from last year, has to be downloaded, hope it works! http://www.yousendit.com/download/M7FyWlyaUTl5TA%3 D%3D Gonna be there for 7 days, or 100 down loads which ever comes 1st. I can't check it here at the school, the county blocks access, let me know if it worked or not. The Cherhola skyway is an awesome ride, killer picture opurtunities to get the whole group topping out on some of the mountain tops. Only question will be what time we head back. When Rubberdown and I left at lunchtime, it was a bitter 30-35 degrees for most of the upper ride, not that I minded, but some may not enjoy this. About 3200-3500 feet was the warm to cold elevation. I'm in! (Message edited by U4euh on January 12, 2007) |
