All -- I'm regrooving the MaDeuce, and remember reading something about a new P/N for the front isolator that didn't last very long, as well as some aftermarket replacements that seemed to be longer lasting -- what's the final verdict on this? thanks for your help! |

Bomber: Call Daves, I got my new ones from him, and had to swap them out because of a mix-up in part numbers. rt |

Part#16207-79b/L0501.2? I'm going to replace mine on the '99 X1. Just because it's down and is now easily replaceble. |

Duc the PN L0501.2 IIRC is the correct one the thread is here in the vastness. 16207-xxx is a harley part tha has been redesigned I have the new one installed, posted in the KV recently.. |

I just ordered one for my S3 from Al @ American Sportbike... I just figured he'd have what I need so I didn't look at part numbers or read the archives. Al notes on his website to stay away from aftermarket poly alternatives - he says they don't hold up and that the factory isolator is the best you can do.... Nick |

Thanks,i've been hanging around the "KV" for the last week for the first time ever.This is a really COOL area.Very informative.I wondered why my '99 X1 wasn't affected by the shock recall.It seems a variety of models(including X1s) were affected...But not mine...but that's another thread too.. |

I CAN'T BELIEVE THE LABOR/DISASSEMBLY REQUIRED TO GET THIS THING!!!AAAARRrrrrrrr! I removed the frame from the engine.Much easier now...I'm cooling down.So far,about 10 hours taking it down.If i take 40 to reassemble well...i can clean things now and reassemble lesurely. |

I couldn't get at the 2 nuts below the front iso. And couldn't swing the front of the engine enough to get at 'em.So in removing the frame i decided to replace the rear isos'.The harness was the biggest hassle,but will go back on pretty easily.I snapped a lot of photos for proper placement.How did you do it differently? |

it's a pain, but you CAN get to those fasteners with a crowsfoot socket, or a very short socket and a universal or wobbly extension (my preference) -- crowsfoot is dunred near the only way to torque em up during installation, though replacing the rear iso's is a good prophylactic measure, so I don't think you're anything but ahead of the game -- better now that July, yes? |

Duc I used End wrenches on my 01 x1 to pull the bolts as I put it in the thread I had to get the wiring out of the way |
