Well, I got a late Christmas present last night, and now I'm finally going to get my wheels powdercoated! I got a $100 Visa giftcard last night for getting it done, and I would like to try and have my fork tubes, triple tree and levers done while I'm at it. I'll need to stop by and grab my bearings, new rear sprocket bolts and belt gaurds here sometime soon. I've got all of next week off, so I think I'll get everything off and taken to the guy next week. |

BLAST FOR SALE!! 2001 Black, Buell Blast. Who wants a winter project? Sharon lost interest in the Blast, and it also has a problem with the ignition. Probably the coil or something in that system. It will run then have a high speed miss. Sometimes it was difficult to start. I don't need the bike and don't want to put any money in it. Someone give it a good home! Extra belt, service manual & tank bag included. Clear MO title $1100.00 cash Dennis 816-935-1836 |

Do I really need to replace my front rotor bolts? I'm replacing the rears because they were such a pain to get out, but the front bolts came out with no problems. I want to just put them back on, but if it is really necessary I'll buy new ones. There is a ton of stuff I want to do now that the bike is torn down, but I think I'm going to need to wait in order to accomplish what I really want. I would really like to take all of my plastics home to have them painted, but if I do that I want a right scoop and some other stuff to be painted also. Oh well, for right now I'll just do the wheels, front end and a new windscreen. |

Cafe Racer is going to do my forks for about $120. He said it is about a 2 hour job. I can live with that since the spring tool is $120 anyway. I'll be dropping them off here shortly and then picking them up to take to powdercoating tomorrow. |

I'm getting a set of new rear rotor bolts and a smoke double bubble from Dave tomorrow! I ready to see what the beast is going to look like once all of this is done. To bad I don't have an extra couple hundred dollars to throw in to the bike right now. I would like to buy a right side scoop and have my step-brother paint everything this winter too. |

I don't know about you but I think I'm getting the all black double bubble cause I've heard the smoked windscreens melt your guages in the sun! Atleast you're finally gettin some stuff done! I can't wait til I can move my arm (from surgery) so I can get a couple projects done, I really feel worthless. I'd like to get my forks done but don't really wanna spend the money and time. I just need to get some tires for now... |

You shouldn't have to replace the rotor bolts that didn't break, I think my front ones were fine and I reused them. Make sure you replace the wheel bearings, though because of the high heat of the oven. |

As much as they had to heat up the bolts on the rear rotor I'm just going to switch them all out. They are only about $2 a piece anyway. I thought you guys reused the front ones, and mine came out not problem. I don't think it matters whether you get smoke or black. Either one will melt your gauges if you leave the bike with the sun setting behind it. When I talk to Dave I'll find out if there is two different shades. I want the darkest one they have. |

Just ordered my parts from Dave. He only stocks the Dark Smoke windscreens because they look better. I paid about $90 for both the double bubble and the rotor bolts after shipping. So that is just about the list price for the double bubble alone. Dave rocks! |

Dislocated the shoulder several times and waited for winter for the down time...4 freakin months!! Yeah dave's got the hookup and he's the best about stocking parts. Glad I know about the windscreen trick, I guess I never knew how to avoid the guages melting... Also one little trick you might do when you take the wheels to get them painted, instead of making them plug the rotor bolt holes, put the original ones back in and just paint over them....then atleast they'll match the wheel. |

I dropped the wheels and forks off at RMI this morning. The manager came out to look everything over and they didn't have a problem with powdercoating the fork bases without removing the slides. They said it would be about $175 for the wheels and forks. |
