Riding/w my Buell buds' two weeks ago on my '99 X1.Running great. As i made a rise in the road the bike briefly left the ground. When it came back down it crossed up and became very unsettled. It immediately died. While we were on the side of the road diagnosing we disconnected the battery. Then(and now) the bike displays these symptoms.

(key/kill switch to on)The fuel pump will energize/w either the kickstand up/clutchlever in.The starter will only work with the clutchlever in.The neutral light works fine(seemingly).Once started(and in neutral) the lever can be let out and the engine continues fine.If i put the kickstand down, the bike dies immediately.Otherwise the bike runs fine.

i don't wish to jumper wires permanantly. The bike is still very rideable.I think i may have damaged the tipover sensor.Pages 4-77 thru 4-80 describe testing "that" sensor.I think i can do it without the elaborate scanalizer.I have a good multimeter. One Question is,can i detect whether i've a code 44? I seem to remember a way of making the engine light blink the code(a code, if present). Help please? I may be cast in a bad light as a hater but,my opinions as what buell should make have no affect on what they have made. Assistance?

Try swapping your diodes. I don't think the bank angle sensor is involved.

Americansportbike.com sells a trouble code dongle that will let you see if if you're getting the 44. They, also, have the VDSTS software and cable to read the codes with a PC/laptop which would then allow you do do TPS resets as well.
