Anyone have anything to say of the quality of the Joe Rocket stuff? I just ordered some new boots and gloves from them and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them.

I got the Sonic boots and the Sonic gloves. I'm hoping they're at least comfortable.

The Joe rocket gear I've had has been passable, but not great.

Don't get me wrong, it is good gear for the dollars spent, I've gotten used to some
of the features found in some of the nicer gear.

The differences that may seem small in the shop become more important as the miles
accumulate.

Buy the best gear you can afford. Look at it as an investment. The money spent on
a good set of gear wouldn't go far in a doctors office or an emergency room visit.

I won't buy gear without trying it on first any more. There is too much variation
in sizing and cut.

Be sure any mail order shops have good return/exchange policies!

FWIW
I can't wait for the new cycle gear in Saint Louis to open. Their shops in San Francisco
and San Diego were incredible as far as having stock on hand to try on.

I know what you mean about trying things on first - normally I would, but being January, all the types of stores that would normally sell any sportbike street gear are selling snowmobile apparel now and we have no motorcycle super-center to speak of.

The gloves I don't think will be an issue - they were $60 gloves, and frankly I can't see spending more than that for a pair that aren't some heated all-weather set, or a race glove.

The boots are my main concern. I went for style more than anything else, as I wanted more protection than my current boots afforded, but didn't want all the plastic doo-dads hanging off the sides. I guess we'll just have see. Hopefully it will all be here by the end of this week.

I just got these from NewEnough, closeouts for $15, can't beat the price. My 9SX has the hand guards so I can get away with lighter gloves in cooler weather.

For 15 bucks how can you not afford to try em? ^_^

Those don't look too bad for really hot weather gloves, I have a similar set on my
shelf that a friend bought for me a couple of years ago.

I have yet to wear them riding, I have a pair of tourmaster armored gauntlets and
a pair of dainese race gauntlets that are both broken in nicely and I always choose
one or the other first since I prefer leather to textiles on my hands;)

^^ Same here - I already have a pair of hot weather mesh gloves which get used for a few weeks in July and August. What I need is a pair that can fill most of the other 6 months of the riding season.

I just got a confirmation e-mail about the stuff... Everything was in stock and should be shipping out today or tomorrow. And hopefully my Vanson jacket will be here any day now as well.

Everything came in and fits perfect. Quality looks good - not excellent, but it's not junk either - I think it fits the price well. I'm happy with both the boots and gloves. We'll have to see once I get the chance to ride with them.
