I wired up a universal connector right under the key hole. Yeah, I know, it's not much of a first mod... but that's ok. It'll mainly be used for a battery tender whenever the bike's parked for the night. But it'll also be used for a CB radio, MP3 Player, Radar Detector, GPS, or a combination of them. I used heavy duty 16 gauge wiring in case I ever want to run heated gloves or something like that that'll suck a lot more power. The wiring runs under the tank, follows the other wires back to the fuse block under the seat, where it has an in-line 7.5 amp fuse. then connects directly to the battery.

Good job but be careful Man... ...all it takes is one "mod" under your belt and in no time you'll be pulling the whole freakin' thing apart searching for anything else to replace or modify. It's addictive |

Oh I know. I've been addicted to modding German cars for years. I used the power outlet today for my Ipod. Worked great. |

An update to my first mod: I found a small tank bag in my garage that had apparently came with my Dads motorcycle CB radio. He doesn't use it, so I decided to give it a try! It ended up working GREAT! It's smaller than what I want, but it'll do fine for now. I added 2 power outlets in it, that plug into the power outlet under the speedo. It also has a little clear plastic window in the top, and compartments... It's PERFECT for an Ipod. The picture shows it all wired up for the Ipod, but no Ipod in there.
