Hi Blake, Agreed, it is hard to notice the fan at higher speed. In this case I comment because the fan is not running as I come off the interstate immediately to a stop light and at the light it is easy to hear the fan (not wearing earplugs). My usual experience has been that once the fan comes up to high speed it is noticeable and it has not typically cycled to lower speed until recently. I welcome the cycling action. Boy, I notice the difference in the suspension at these cooler temperatures as well. Or maybe I am just a lot stiffer myself<grin> in the cold. |

Hey everyone, this is my first time on this site. Anyone from the Erie or Meadville area? I have a Uly and haven't seen a single one around here. |

Hey Al, My fan used to run quite frequently, but as you put the miles on you'll notice it a little less often. I've been talking to a diehard Harley guy who also owns a ducati and bmw (he's logged over 200,000mi on Harleys) and he says the Harley twin won't really feel good and broke in til you hit about 12000 miles! with 11000 on my Uly, I can only agree; it just keeps getting smoother! |

Hey rum runner, I live 2mi south of the Riverside! I got my buell at the Newcastle dealership. We're gonna get a buell ride scheduled sometime this spring. Of course I'm always up for a ride anytime of the year! |

Who knows, maybe in '07 you all can come down to Altoona for the Reservoir Ride. Congrats on the new ride Bren. I'm in the midst of a "S" to "R" tail swap, so far so good. I'm waiting on the new tail plastics to come in. They were cheaper to buy than repaint the hashed set I got with the used tail assembly. Anyone need a Select seat for a Lightning? PM me or post here on the PA thread, I'll be posting it on the classifieds in the near future. |

not far at all. I've often thought that sign would look kinda nice on my garage! But as you've noticed it's still standing. When is the Reservoir ride? |

No particular date set yet. I should set some kind of tentative time frame. I'll have to get my schedule out and see when I'll be in town. I travel (for my business) a fair amount in the spring/early summer and then in the fall. Family vaca sometime in July this year. The Res. Ride is about 100 miles start to finish and one big loop, so you end where you start. There are many ways the route can be "adjusted" to meet time constraints, so it could be as short as 25-30 miles. It consists mainly of 2 lane, back country roads with a few short shots of highway to get from one section to the next. It's not "The Dragon", but it's not 10 hours away either. I'll have to look around a little, I thought I had a map posted on here. If I can find it, I'll post it again. I would guess that 50% of the roads have been newly paved within the last 2-3 years, 40% nice roads and only about a 2-3 mile stretch you need to be careful. Who knows, they might have it on the re-pave list by then? Some of the options are a cool little BBQ stand for lunch, nice frozen custard (ice cream) stand at the end and gorgeous views at the 3 reservoirs we could ride by. Just to get a ball park time frame started, how does towards the end of May work for you guys? LMK |

My "normal" ride is A to G, J, I, H then back to D, where I live. The technical parts are A to B and E to F, lots of twisties in "them thar hills". |

Toona could you post that same map but a larger view so i could see more of the surrounding towns. End of may sounds good to me just let me know for sure and i'll make sure my fork seals are replaced and my suspension is set up by then. Did you sell that bike yet. |

Rum, I do still have the XB9 for sale. I picked up a used, but in good shape, belt for it. I'll probably get it installed tomorrow. If you need any particulars on it, PM me or call my cell-814-932-7405. I'm leaning towards the 3rd Saturday, May 19, 2007 as the Reservoir Ride Date. That would leave the following Sat. as a rain date. As far as other riders, the more the merrier. I don't mind ridin' with others that haven't been "won over" to the Buell camp. It is a chance for them to see in real life how a Buell handles/runs/performs outside of the showroom floor or an online video. |

Hotdog271, It has been a bit cold and messy lately. It is too cold for much of a ride this weekend but I may zip around the block just to get my fix. I am on the west side of Philly out past King of Prussia. |

Alchemy, I agree, especially since the white crap came. I just bought the bike so I'm hurting for some riding. I've done some short trips. Maybe if it gets nice out one weekend, or in spring we should try to organize something. |

Hotdog271, My weekends can get a little mixed up at times but I have been trying to connect up with some other local Buell riders. I just got my Uly this Summer and it has been quite a different experience for me as it is my first V-twin and the riding experience has been an adjustment. We should be able to get something worked out. The lightning long was my alternate choice if the Uly ended up being too tall. I am comfortable with it now. It seems you are pretty new to the Buell if I understand it right. Do you ever ride out near Valley Forge area? |

I am new to the buell, I have wanted one for years. I have had harleys for the past 4 years, and import sport bikes before that. The buell is great, an adjustment from my harley, but great. I have been out to valley forge before, but it has been a year or so. I would be interested in going again. Lets hope for some nice weather before May. |

Hey Dano, you were on the opposite side of Altoona from me, maybe 15 miles? I've been to Marzoni's before, right after they opened. There are some good roads around. Keep an eye on this thread, right now I'm trying to plan the Reservoir Ride for the 3rd Sat. in May with a rain date of the 4th Sat. Dan |
