Buellinbenny, here's a couple more.... The saddle is from the buell accessory line, more comfy for a passenger, and has a nice 'lip' in the seat to hold me in... I believe that the older model tanks will fit the X1 frame...seen one on the force website that did.. Link: http://public.fotki.com/jony2stones/stainless_buell/ Jony |

S1 tanks will not work on X1s unless you are willing to have a custom made seat and do some frame mods. Remember, the X1 is the first change in Buellframe geometry since the S1s came out. |

Rick, I'm almost positive that that bike does not have an S1 tank on it. I believe that tank is a custom made one in aluminum. Plus how would you rig the fuel pump up inside an S1 tank? If I am wrong please let me know because I like the looks of that X1 and would like to do it to mine if it's as simple as bolting up an S1 tank. Dan |

1996 S2 Thunderbolt in Black Sapphire. I bought her 10/20/01 with 3,161 miles on the odometer.

Jim: Pristine example. Looks like the only mod is the polished primary cover. Check the wheels and let me know if you find a Marchisini sticker on either of them. Also, let me know what the text is on the badge on the instrument panel. Thanks, Court |

Court Commented: > Pristine example. Thanks. I cleaned & waxed the bike before I took the pic. There are a few scratches (I'll try to polish them out...) and a small chip in the tank paint, and some minor yellow stains on the frame & rear wheel that won't come out. But overall She is lovely to behold... > Looks like the only mod is the polished primary cover. Interesting. The Seller said the bike was completely stock, which is how I'd like to keep her. > Check the wheels and let me know if you find a Marchisini sticker on either of them. I don't remember seeing a sticker, but I saw an "M", I believe, in the surface of the wheel. I will double check this weekend. > Also, let me know what the text is on the badge on the instrument panel. I'll check this as well. FYI, the VIN # ends in 3000005 if that helps identify the bike. Hi Court, My Daughter reports "no sticker" on the wheels, but she can see an "M"... The instrument panel badge says: Buell S2 Thunderbolt 1203 CC Free Breathing Made in USA Jim |
