Jim,why not just buy a new car w/o all the repair hassles'?? Maybe you like wrenching.I like wrenching, but only as a hobby and,not on something so important as daily transportation.Blah,blah,blah.. |

A Ford F150 is good for towing up to 9000lbs (depending on engine and hitch type). 2wd is actually better for towing capacity. I used to sell them back in late 04. You should be all set with that truck. |

I don't mind letin' ya use it but I may have to fix a wheel bearing/axle u-joint first. monday it started vibrating/grinding on my way to work so It is something I need to fix A.S.A.P. (getting worse) Need to climb under it and pull apart to figure out exactly what it may be. This is when I hate winter...when I need to fix somethin' outside. when you need to go get it? |

No hitch that's the problem. It only has a ball on the bumper. My car doesn't need much. The problem I'm having is with the emissions and a few cosmetic things. I figure that I could get all the parts that I need for myself and sell the other parts (motor, trans, doors ect) that are in good condition on the bay. I know I will get my money back, probably make a few bucks for my time. No I don't mind wrenching......... Did I mention that I have 24hr access to a fully loaded garage with a lift? |

A hitch can be installed in only a couple hours time. I have done a couple and they really are easy. If you get stuck let me know, when do you NEED to get it? |

I told the guy I would pick it up on Saturday. I would buy a hitch but it would be a waste of money cause it would hardly get used. |

Some one Make The Voices Stop!!!!!! That New Ducati 1098 Keeps Calling My Name...... |

Well,Erik( the Buell) could make those voices stop if he'd just give us what we want.We want a superbike...or a street going XBRR with a 1340 engine making at least 120 RWHP.But he won't do it. So now Ducati is offering 160HP/90lbs.ft torque with less than 380 pounds. My air cooled Buell weighs 385? Hmmm, and less than $15,000 sounds inexpensive, comparatively speaking.Wanna buy mine? Package deal with the whole kit&kaboodle. And i'll buy the 1098 |

I am dead broke, but I would like to talk about picking up a used 12R. I am looking for one for the track. It looks like I might be available to race this year after all if the budget will allow. |

They're a great bunch at Razee.Been to a couple parties they've attended,Gordon is a great guy.No 1098s to be found? oh well, more comming i'm sure.Till then i'll continue on my alternate 996. But Buell MUST have big things in store.Look at that new S&S engine, aircooled and 130 HP in bone stock form? Seems the aircoolers still have refinement in their future. |

So what is the good word there jim? I looked quickly last night at my truck and didn't see anything that looked like it was ready to Grenade. it was darkish out though.... I greased the front end and didn't get that noise again (this morning) so it may just be an axle u-joint or possibly drive shaft u-joint getting sloppy. wheel bearing didn't seem to make any noise when turning tire so i think it is safe. Basicly if you need it, You should be fine with no problems to speak of. Never towed with it yet so check lights and such will be needed. let me know if you need the beast! |

Well in talking with my buddy last night he said that him and his buddy used to tow their racecar back and forth throughout New England with the car/trailer hooked up to the ball on the bumper without a problem. I am a little nervous about doing that but that is my only alternative right now. |

Not sure if "I" would trust that set-up. More than likely you would be fine.....If memory serves me correctly that is how most hitches were used in the old days for towing trailers. You got my phone number looks like 50's on sunday! (Message edited by firebolteric_ma on December 22, 2006) |

I see "Eboos" listed as "going" to March Badness. Is it true? Eric/Jim can you guys' fill me in on travel/itinerary.I mean,if i go,i'll be bringing my X1+XB.My nephew from D.C. is "IN" if i am.Uhh,what's the prospect of loading my bikes' on Eric's truck. What's your capacity Eric. What do you think splitting fuel ma cost us(roughly).Maybe if only, you could take "one" of my bikes and i'll truck one via D.C. to pick-up Kevin. He could also meet us somewhere enroute.Who knows,we may pass right by D.C. Are the H.V. boys flexible? Or ridgidly holding their itinerary? How about accomodations? How many people can their cabin sleep? I dunno, maybe we should have a getogether to hash these things out.Just thinking here before i commit to vacation time... |

I wish it was true. I highly doubt that I would be able to go. You guys will have to do "the dance" down there without me. Maybe if I get myself fired before then I will go. (Message edited by eboos on January 05, 2007) |
