Perhaps I missed this somewhere in this very long thread. I was wondering if Buell is going to make any more XBRR's or is the first 50 or so, the one and only production run? |

I'm afraid I'm with Rubberdown on this one. It has now been 7 days since the idea of sending cheques for US$250 to 'Buell Racing' was proposed on here, and still we have seen no response from anyone connected with 'Buell Racing' as whether they will run/fund/support a team in FX in 2007, or how they would distribute the maney raised to somebody who may be willing to run a team in FX if the factory do not . In fact so far there hasn't even been a 'thanks for the thought guys' posted on here from anyone who may be 'in the know' at the factory on such things. I know Blake says that these things happen in 'real time', but so does getting prepared for a season that is looming larger every day. If Buell can afford to put up almost a million dollars in contingency money across all US club classes then I am sure they could run an effective FX campaign without the need for charity if they really wanted to. I would love to see a properly funded FX effort next year, but the deafening silence speaks volumes to me I'm afraid I can only guess at how frustrated the guys at Hals and Warrs must feel, having put a lot of effort and money into running the bikes lats year. |

It's the thought that counts, right?? |

So why aren't they thinking of their customers, fans, supporters, or the race efforts so needing their 'thoughts'? Rocket |

Well, at least I have my hat & shirt for when I go to the AMA events next year.... Hopefully Larry Pegram uses #21 in FX. (Message edited by josé_quiñones on December 18, 2006) |

"Boy those guy are harsh on buell racing....." They're probably more harsh on Buell NOT racing. |

A Buell-enthusiast sponsored FX team is an interesting idea, and one we would support, but the dollars required to go serious FX racing are daunting. The Erion team got developed motorcycles and $2M of Honda's money, we've heard from a reliable source. We had to take an extremely hard look at our priorities for 2007, and decide where we could spend money and engineering manpower. Unfortunately, it was not in a factory FX team, even though we very optimistic about the competitiveness of the bike in the coming season. A lot of teething problems had been sorted through, and we had a few very specific areas of development underway to make the bike faster -- by Mid-Ohio, we knew where we were losing time to the top 4 bikes, and knew what had to be done to make it up. But before long you'll understand why we made the decision we made. |

Hoorah!! A response from the 'people in the know'. Thanks Anonymous. However is that a 'thanks but no thanks guys' or a 'keep the money coming and we'll see guys'? |

I think it's a "come back when you have $2,000,000" response. |

Trojan, what I think he is saying is that a fan sponsored race team would be nice, but, you guys just don't have that kind of money...realisitically. He is right, of course. jimidan |

It's not a thanks but no thanks response -- the fact that we have this level of enthusiast support is fantastic. And we don't need Erion level of money to go racing -- we're more efficient than that. |

Funding is easier to marshal than genuine enthusiasm. Buell is going to race. You can't extinguish that type of desire. Few folks have the experience and capacity to take knock out blows and get back on their feet. Study history. It's no more than a question of how. |

"We had to take an extremely hard look at our priorities for 2007, and decide where we could spend money and engineering manpower." Excellent decision! That 2008 water-cooled square four is going to be something I tell you! |

But before long you'll understand why we made the decision we made. Meaning something more incredible than 50 or so XBRR's produced, and several racing at Daytona, yet not going FX racing this year coming? This better be good, or I'm buying a Honda. Rocket |

"But before long you'll understand why we made the decision we made." I think Anon meant to say: Why should we waste money racing in FX with that ole' air cooled lump, when in 08' we'll be battling for the SuperBike title with our new water-cooled square four. Right Anon? |

"But before long you'll understand why we made the decision we made." I like the teaser I look forward to seeing what's coming down the pipe. I think, as riders, we're all pretty enthusiastic about seeing Buell in the lineup on race day. Thanks for the response, Anonymous. It means a lot to know we were heard. Tom |

"But before long you'll understand why we made the decision we made." All of you can thank me for this announcement, since I knew that when I finally purchased a new 07 Uly earlier this month they'd be sure to release the ultimate Buell shortly afterwards!!! You know what? After all the time I've lusted for a new Buell, I'd still have bought it even if I knew what's coming down the pike! Who knows? Maybe I'll be trading up in a couple of years? |

Hugh - when you're ready to trade up, email me, I'd like right of first refusal on your Uly! |

So Anon? Will there be any more XBRR's? Any chance of a guy being able to purchase one currently owned by Warr's and ridden in the 200 by McWilliams? That'd be an investment worth the price I'll bet . |

Speaking of the Buell FX effort; would the following be applicable for 2006?
quote:"We have a brand new bike and very little testing time – I think we have a very good product to work with but there is a lot of developing that needs to be done."
