I'm still new to this board, but I cannot seem to find anything about re-routing oil drain lines after a set of "custom" rearset have been put on. Do I shorten them? Do I just screw the line clamp next to the regulator under the tail section? Ideas would be appreciated. BTW- my rearsets are made with aluminum diamond plate and some GSXR peg mounts. I'll post some pics if I can figure out how to.

Make up my own REAR SETS and IMPROVISED a
catch container for head breather/fuel tank vent ... Had to lengthen oil tank drain hose just a little ... There are some pictures of my BLAST Product Improvements, BUT "i" do not remember
where posted ...

You can always send the pics to me and I'll post them for you! I placed my hoses out back by the swingarm and ziptied them to it.



You can barely see them tied off on the red - just like the black.

Thanks for the info guys, I was looking at my rearset mount and decided to drill a hole and bolt the 3 lines to that. It doesn't look like it will interfere.

Which set of bars do you prefer, the superbike or the daytona's, or the crossraods?

Bars...I've used Clipons, Superbike, Clubman, dragbars and Motocross/ATV bars. Of all I prefer the ones I have at present which are Moose Racing 3"rise ATV bars. It's not so much the rise that i like its the pullback and the width. They are the best at placing my body comfortably for long rides. I'm in the saddle these days for a whole tank of gas...then again I'm also 6'1" which makes a difference. I really liked my clipons, but for me it wasn't a comfortable enough body position for extended ride...BTW those Clipons are still for sale. As far as oil drain lines go, mine are zip tied to my rearsets. keeps them out of the way and that's all I care

Xgecko I appreciate the input.Sounds like you get some serious saddle time. It also seems that you have tried many bars, did any of them give you any trouble with hitting the tank?

I decided to use my drain line clamp and bolt it to the rearset mount should make service easy as well.

How low do you want to go? Clip-ons will take you lowest, Laverda/Jota bars would be a bit higher, then superbike bars - all the rest hit the tank - aka - clubman, and drag. Anything higher than superbike and you might as well stick with the stock bars - lol

hitting the bars on the tank depends on the pullback of the bars themselves. My ATV bars along with most most of the motorcross bars I was looking at (Renthal's for instance) have less pullback than street bars while having roughly the same width. Plenty of clearance. I don't even notice the tank. That said Clubmans hit, my dragbars didn't but there were other issues for me (too far forward). Clipons weren't an issue and neither are the Crossroads bars

I'm looking for something lower than stock, because my rearset put my feet back, but I don't want to bare all the weight on my wrists. I'm just gonna have to bite the bullit and try some on.

Ezblast love the bike pics, and when I get my sets finished I'll send you the pics so you can post 'em unless I get all tech and figure that out.

I appreciate everyone's input and I try to go through the archives, tons of reading

Try the Chapparell superbike bars first. They're cheap and should give you a good idea if you want to go from there.

Blasters- I'm doing the chapparell bars. Seems to be the general concensus.

Questions- How difficult to switch them out?
Besides the bars, what additional parts will I need?

EZ's right unless of course you have an air compressor and then you just need time. Of course if you are gonna change your bars a set of ProGrip Sportbike Grips are very nice for taking out vibration

Just a heads up. I finished my rearsets, and borrowed a shifter set-up, what a huge difference. Now I can get my serious cornering on. I need to get the standard height seat, and some new bars, this thing will be just about right. I will get some pics posted, the diamond plate looks great. My only design flaw is moving the kickstand back and forth, but how often is that necessary. The oil lines mounted right up, the brake reservoir moved under the seat to a custom diamond plate scrap bracket.
