Rainman, I don't know if the specs. are accurate, but it could be explained by wind resistance at the higher speeds on the highway. My Buell motor can loaf along quite nicely at low RPMs in the city. |

Hey Old Man, Thanks. I've read some of the old threads and most of the folks say they're getting about 48 in the city so my guess is that the specs in the new pamphlets are misprinted. Still, that seems like a BIG mistake ... |

Here's a reply from Jeremy McWilliams concerning BWB'ers sending Get Well emails to him.As most know ,our outstanding Friend and MotoGp racer has been putting the XBRR to the test this year with Warrs of London and Hals Racing.Garnering some excellent results in the process ,Jezza (Jeremy)was hurt in a testing accident this past week and is presently home recuperating. The info on this is under the topic of "Racing"....Sub-topic "Road Racing" then heading of "Jezza's Progress".If you have a chance, send a little get well note via the link posted below.I'd like Jezza to know what a huge fan base racing Eriks creation has brought him!For those whom haven't met Jeremy , perhaps in the future if he continues to test for Buell ,you could go watch him race and say Hi to him in the Paddock.I believe you'll find that we couldn't have hoped for a better ambassador for our sport and our Brand............. Hi Eric, I have forwarded on some e-mails to Jeremy and this is the reply I received from him today. "Please forward my thanks and very best wishes to all at BWBikers, maybe you could post this as I'm typing with one less finger!! I really enjoyed all the AMA events and particularly competing in Daytona. Although we had a mixed year with more DNF's than we had expected all on the Buell/Warrs team gave their all and it certainly wasn't from lack of effort on their behalf that we didn't capitalise on the results. The guys were always more that enthusiastic and we always managed to make the best of the situation, whatever the outcome, thanks to all for the support and I hope to be back on two wheels asap, hopefully working with Erik Buell, the guys at East Troy and Warrs in London." All the best Jeremy McWilliams |

It looks like I'm back in the Buell world. I made a deal with skyguy for his bike and have cash in hand, just waiting for a time from him to go pick the bike. I'll warm it up in the canyons and then join a dozen friends racing at Willow Springs in Battle of the Twins Middleweight. It's going to be fun setting up an XB for my 130 lbs instead of borrowing one set for riders 1/2 again my weight. Blake, thank you for keeping this madhouse on two wheels, it's good to come back. |

In case you guys missed this. . . Governor Doyle Announces $4.5 Million for Harley-Davidson to Expand in Wisconsin Tax Credits Tied to 200 New Jobs, Retention of 4,100 Jobs Governor Jim Doyle today announced that Harley-Davidson Motor Company will receive $4.5 million in enterprise zone jobs tax credits from the Department of Commerce to support an expansion of its Menomonee Falls facility, ongoing workforce training and development, and the continued growth of Harley-Davidson in Wisconsin. “A few weeks ago, many thought these additional jobs were heading out of Wisconsin, but the company, the union, and my administration never gave up,” Governor Doyle said. “Because of our work together Harley will expand right here in Wisconsin and retain its operations in this state. People all over the world know that the greatest motorcycles are made by Harley-Davidson right here in Wisconsin. I am confident that Harley will continue to grow in Wisconsin and will always be proud to call Wisconsin home.” The tax credits are tied to plans by Harley-Davidson to invest $300 million in the state over the next several years and will be used to facilitate the creation of up to 200 additional jobs and retention of the company’s approximate 4,100 existing Wisconsin jobs. About 100 of those new jobs are related to the planned Menomonee Falls plant expansion. “Harley-Davidson is excited about moving forward with the expansion of air-cooled engine and transmission operations in Wisconsin,” said Jim McCaslin, Harley-Davidson Motor Company president and chief operating officer. “Governor Doyle and the Department of Commerce were extremely supportive and engaged throughout our decision-making process on the expansion.” “The men and women who make Harley-Davidson motorcycles are a testament to the quality workforce we have in this state. And Harley is not only one of our state's greatest companies, they are also one of our finest corporate citizens – committed to this state and to its future,” Governor Doyle said. After considering expansion outside Wisconsin, the company and members of Local 2-209 of the United Steel Workers came to an agreement to expand powertrain facilities in Milwaukee – an expansion that will enable the company create new jobs in this state. Governor Doyle worked closely with the leadership of both the company and the union over many weeks to make sure that the powertrain expansion happens right here in Wisconsin. |

Hi Steve! Good to se ya posting again and to hear that you'll be tearing up the track like the other racing Steve -- the Slaughter kind. Double good that you'll be getting a notorious bike and metaphorically making wine with it rather than whine. Sparky |

Greetings. Hi. Just a quick stop to say Merry Christmas. Hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving. Now for the question. As you may recall my better half "made" me sell my beloved beautiful S2 to help with a house down payment. (But dear, cardboard shacks are chic. DID NOT WORK) Maybe, big maybe, I'll be able to buy a new ride in the near future. Any suggestions? I leaning toward a BMW. But the ZX-14 is a close second. The XB-12 is in the running, but realistically I'm getting too fat. By the way does BuellieDan hang out here anymore? Arvel |

Hi guys, and thank you for the welcome. I bought a Buell from a Honda rider. If you've been around, you know that's all that needs to be said. If it hadn't been for viros letting me ride his '03 on the track years ago, I wouldn't be so excited about this bike. Thanks Vic! I also responded on the "melted" thread to answer some lingering questions. Ferris, wherever you are, don't say it! I'm baaaack! |

Can a Firebolt top triple clamp be easily modified and placed on my XBScg? Any suggestions on aftermarket top triple clamp suppliers. I am also considering frame and axle sliders for my XBScg. Any suggestions? I am new to this board and would appreciate any advice or direction. |

David, Not easily. Besides the obvious ignition lock issues, the handlebar locations conflict with the flyscreen castings. You might want to consider these: http://www.americansportbike.com/shop/cgi-bin/cp-a pp.cgi?usr=51F2023591&rnd=3263562&rrc=N&affl=&cip= 68.69.238.244&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=9074&cat=&cats tr= If you use the search function (Crossroads XB handlebars), you'll find plenty of discussion about them. There are Sato and LSL frame sliders, I'm a Sato and LSL dealer, and I will NOT sell them. I believe they cause more harm than good. The Buell frame pucks are your best answer, see http://www.americansportbike.com/shop/cgi-bin/cp-a pp.cgi?usr=51F2023591&rnd=8114692&rrc=N&affl=&cip= 68.69.238.244&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=17061&cat=&cat str= Axle sliders: See here: http://www.americansportbike.com/shop/cgi-bin/cp-a pp.cgi?usr=51F2023591&rnd=8114692&rrc=N&affl=&cip= 68.69.238.244&act=&aff=&pg=prod&ref=17061&cat=&cat str= and then scroll down a little to see the related products for other choices in that area. Al, Thanks for taking the time to provide me with feedback. I have heard the same from someone else regarding the frame sliders causing more damage in a crash. I already have the frame pucks on the bike. I have been down on a few of my other bikes, and know how costly a minor accident can be. I just want to protect my bike. In regards to the firebolt top triple clamp issue. I would really like that on my XB, but wondered about the issues you have confirmed. I have seen the crossroads ones in pictures but they just don't appear to have the same finished look I would like to have. I will have to hold off until I see something that I like. I just got the rear axle Sato sliders in and have yet to put them on. It appears I am may be missing the hardware to screw on the loose end though. I have not decided if I really need front axle sliders. I welcome any further feedback from anyone and look forward to belonging to this club. Best Regards and happy holidays!
