Buell... Its a factory carbon fiber bike, #249 of 250. BUT, if you really want, you can get quality carbon fiber from Al @ American Sport Bike.... The, vents, no they dont do anything. Well, they house my LEDs.. but, they only came on 99s... Chase |

VERY nice! Interesting bars as well, tho I'd not like to take one of the bar ends in the groin...... |

Yeah, I turned them out in a short time...but decided to leave them sharp...it keeps the morons from riding directly next to me...so... as well as quelling vibes...they are also Moron Repellers... Have some for the rear axle...made a few more sets, for various other things...but, ended up selling them...so.. Chase |

Are you going to do anything with the handle bar clamp? It would clean it up if you shaved off the extra metal where the old dash bolted up. Also I think something needs to be done with the rear sprocket, rocker boxes and front brake and rotor. And maybe the front motor mount, but then again I have a lightning too and I notice silly stuff like that. You have this nice silver/chrome look and then the untouched aluminum kinda breaks it up, at least for me anyway. I think a chrome sprocket cover would help break up the rear end and define the rear swing arm more. Polishing or even painting black the rocker boxes would either help with keeping the silver look with the silver pipes or painting them black would show off your pipes more. The front brake would look good polished and blend in more with the really good looking forks and if it's possible (I really don't know) doing something with the middle of the front rotor. Other than those I think you have a fantastic and unique looking X1. I would be proud to own one like that. |

Looks awesome! I really like it. The only thing I can think of to really clean it up is to ditch the stock mirror. Yeah, a very minor detail, but with all the other work you've done on it the mirror looks like an afterthought. Just my 2 cents... It is a very nice bike, and I mean nice in the baddest possible way. |

OK, sorry, I should have noted the current plans.... First, been trying to find a S3 top clamp..wnated to do that before hacking the stock one up...that leaves me some options, for future mouting... Second, the ring around the driven pulley, IS polished..left the center black...thought it created a nice contrast..but then again, thats why I am looking for opinion... The Rocker boxes, and front mount, yeah, thats planned, but I was waiting until I pulled the motor apart for the rebuild/1250 kit. The Boxes will be polished, and was thinking about powdercoating the center piece, nuke blue to match the frame...the bars, and headlight brackets are getting the nuke blue powder coat as well.. The rotor, is pretty much shot, and I havent decided which rotor will replace it...though, it will be polished then... or something... The caliper..yeah..AT THE MOMENT, its acting as a contrast tool...showing what it looked like, vises what it looks like.. Also, looking at having the carbon fiber candied to match the frame..will still see the weave and all..just be nuke blue.. Its hard to get stuff done to my own bike, when I am always doing other peoples stuff... Like this 900rr..man, I have some time in this, motor, frame, etc...
But, keep'em coming... Chase |
