I've got 11,500 miles on XB12X and fan runs very erratic. Sometimes normal, sometimes very, very slow and sometimes it pulses back and forth from slow to slower, almost coming to a stop each time. Dealer checked engine codes and replaced ECU as instructed, same problem. I guess they will replace fan next. By the way, this is all ready fan #2. First one wiped the bearing at 6000 miles. |

7.5K on my Uly and today the fan bearings started talking to me. This is the 1st problem I've had. Tomorrow I'll see what the dealer has to say. |

Dealer mechanics heard fan having one of its moments today. They think it may be a problem with the supply voltage to the fan instead of the fan itself. They want the bike for a few days to check it out. I'll post again when I have an answer. |

Dealer put another ECU and another fan in bike. Also, installed ECU protector under seat to keep seat from crushing it. Fan is working normal now. |

Buellysses, What exactly does the ECU protector look like? How is it connected. There are several reports of the 07 seat rubbing on the ECU a bit. Does it have a part number? |

Sorry so long to get back. The ECU protector is nothing more than a plastic block and a longer bolt for the front ECU mount. It is taller than the ECU, so the seat hits it instead of the ECU. Buell refers to it as a "Seat travel limiter" part# N0903.1AK and the longer screw is AA0410.2CZB. |
