An oldie but a goodie. Definitely the most 'killer' S1 I've seen.
It looks like this fellar kinda dug it too.

Had to put it back on when I got it home. Bought it from a cop in Kansas and all he had on it was a chrome tip. Got it 2 yrs ago with only 1300 miles on it and none of the recalls done. Took my dealership a month to get it done. Have over tripled the miles on it lovin every mile I put on it. (Message edited by Garrett1998s1 on November 20, 2006) |

Hey Charley. How much would you ask for the swingarm? And where exactly is your shop in the Netherlands? Ralph |

Hey Charley. How much would you ask for the swingarm? And where exactly is your shop in the Netherlands? Ralph The Shop is located 20Km above Rotterdam next to Gouda,a kilometer from Highway A12 (Utrecht-Den Haag) the swingarm is a one-off item, special made for the R1 wheel/axle and combined with the older R6 caliper etc. I guess to make one for a Buel wheel would be around € 2500,-- |

That price is ludicrous. I would imagine Bill at Spondon would make you any type of swingarm for around 1000 euro. Rocket |

This is no comparison which is cheaper i don´t think Spondon will do it for that as his production swingarms are already higher as 1000,-- and o-yeah it was ready within 14-day´s try that at spondon |

Sorry wasn't trying to offer a comparison, just point out alternatives do exist. I doubt anyone your side of the North Sea is going to seek out Spondon just because of my comment, but there might be someone from my side who just might. There are numerous fabrication shops in the UK as you know Charlie. Harris, Spondon, Metmachex, to name the top three. Perhaps the competition keeps the price a little more affordable? Either way £1700 for a tube swing arm is ludicrous. Bet you didn't pay that much But what do I know. I'm out of touch since I asked Metmachex to make me a S1 swing arm before they thought of it themselves. That was about 7 years ago and I was quoted £450. I approached another Euro company too back them. Maybe it was LSL, I forget. But they'd made a tube swing arm of which I have the info stashed away somewhere. It looked not to dissimilar to the Buell race type swing arm of the day, which incidentally yours reminded me of, and would have been stylish on any street Buell. The price was prohibitive though at £750. Maybe it is more expensive on the European mainland after all. Your Buell looks cool but I'd change a couple of things for my own tastes. As usual though Charlie, your Buell efforts seem excellent and it's good to see you still at it after not posting here in a long time. Rocket |

Hello Rocket, in no doubt it's expensive, but ain't all one-off jobs.I guess if it would be setup for multiple sets the prce will drop fast. Anyway, british frame builders are still rated as one of the best. Anyway, i'm still very active in the Buell market. I haven't posted for a long time simply because i haven't got the time. how is you're S1 doing ? |

Hey. This swingarm ,made by Krüger&Junginger, looks similar to that Bakker one.Anyway,it is TÜV approved/street legal, and costs €1150 in Germany. K&J is renowned in Germany for their high standard workmanship and service. http://www.motorradschwingen.de/html/preise_neo-classic_2.html Ralph |
