1. Remove 07 seat from box. 2. Remove "old" seat. 3. Attempt to install the 07 seat. 4. Discover 07 seat doesnt want to latch 5. Try funky manuver that the salesman had to do to get the 06 seat to latch. 6. Remember seeing something on BADWEB about this. 7. On way to the PC evaluate what Mrs ChrisB is watching on Oprah. 8. Determine that Oprah is not a threat to harmony today. 9. Search Badweb. 10. Return to the garage. 11. Head towards washer stash to look for shims. 12. Detour back to the bike. 13. Get the seat in place to where you can hear it trying to latch. 14. Apply brute force. 15. Sit on seat that latched. |

You may find (as I did later), it will latch much better after it has been in place for awhile (read days/weeks). But... then you will also realize it is contacting the ECU and wonder why there is no 'tech tip' for it with HD. |

Remove the two fastners located under the tail section, that hold the seat latch bracket.Install two or three 1/4" flat washers on each side and reinstall longer fastners, using locktite.(1/4-20x1 1/4")should do the trick. Your milage may vary. |

When I got my '06 Low seat last year, I had the same trouble getting it to latch. I had to really pound the seat over the latch to get the latch to click shut. After it had been on the bike a while, and had time to re-shape itself a little, it became much easier. Now, it's a perfect fit. |

My '07 seat would not fit at first. I didn't want to shim the latch, since I like the '06 stock seat as well,(perfect fit). So, I twisted and flexed the '07 seat over my knee until I heard a cracking sound,(no evidence of damage). Now it fits. |

If it doesnt work, force it, if it breaks it needed replacing anyway. |

I don't think that rule is universal. Try it with your wife and see! |
