I sent my Billet Silver/Nuke Blue twin tail to Hobans for 6 months for total, tear down and rebuild at 22K miles. I have only put 4K sport touring miles on it since then. I wanted the bike done right by, in my opinion, the leading race shop in the country. That is exactly what I got. John Dahmer was a saint in putting up with me as a very exacting customer! (John if you see this, THANKS from Doug!) Motor: 88" Millennium Technology cyls and forged pistons, Stage III porting, Carrillo forged rods. Hobans lightened, knife edged, balanced rotating assembly, windage tray, oil cooler Trans: Baker six speed (just got it in the bike two weeks ago with updated, stronger shift forks for more positive shifting in this hi torque application and Barnett heavy duty clutch. Carb/exhaust: 42mm Mikuni, Force intake, Force megaphone Ignition: Crane Hi-4 Chassis: All new steering and wheel bearings, isolotors with billet inserts, Works Perf shock, internally gussetted box swingarm with stand mounts, Banke frame brace, steering damper, rebuilt forks, braking wave rotors front and rear, American Sport Bike aluminum oil tank, billet rear pulley, American Sport Bike pulley cover, Banke shifter and brake lever, Corbin seat, Bar Snake in bars, New Avon sport touring tires, new primary chain and drive belt. and probably more that I have forgotten about. Including all stock parts except exhaust and front rotor as well. Bike looks great, but does show the minor nicks commensurate with a well kept, but ridden bike. Bike is an excellent, long distance sport touring bike. I used to ride 500 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway in one day, then about 450 the second, followed by a 300 mile ride home on the third. I remember thinking the last time I made that ride that there was no other bike I'd rather be on. But now I am thinking about a mellow ST1300 or similar bike. It is with great reluctance that I am listing this bike for 7500 firm for, hopefully, a quick sale. Pictures will follow in a couple of days. I'll also consider trades for interesting classic bikes... I hope someone that appreciates the total systems engineering and attention that went into this bike! You can search my previous posts for pre-resto pics. BTW, I am the original owner with title in hand in Southern Maryland. (Message edited by nfoviking on November 19, 2006) |

I knew I forgot something! Cams are Redshift 585's actuated by roller rockers. Runs perfectly on pump gas. Ready to ride anywhere NOW. Sitting in a local custom bike shop showroom, on a stand, freshly detailed with new battery and fresh fluids. |
