Is anyone out there using anything from airtech? I want to get an S1 solo tail to match my grand prix fairing (which I fit on the x1). If so, how is ride quality affected and what finish do they come in?

NO, that was last winter. Notice the old blue belly that we were sanding on, plus the old tacky nose that I hacked off and YOU helped me put back together....... When you coming down to FL, bitchness? |

I had the Airtech GP body on my S1. You will need a substantial amount of bank angle to hold a straight line in a crosswind. No so bad on asphalt but not fun on a long steel deck bridge. I took the body off as it made service difficult and have grown to like the naked frankenstein look |

Almost forgot. I had a Zero Gravity windscreen that dragged on my speedo and deflected the incoming air stream at the bottom of my helmet. Gustoffson plastics in FL made me a really nice windshield with a hump in the center AKA jet fighter canopy. It required some tweaking to fit but lined up pretty well. Much better wind deflection at 3digit speeds |

I have the Superbike tail...it came semi-finished with a gel coat. It cracked after a few thousand miles of street use. Nothing serious, just the typical spiderweb cracks. The thing flops like a fish at idle. I like the naked look, too...at least on the street. I now use it for track days only along with the Buell race screen. |

If any of you are interested I am selling my complete set of Airtech GP-1 bodywork with stock S-1 tank and seat. Is not perfect but still in good shape. At this point as it hasn't sold on eBay I am taking any/all offers. It is packed and ready to go in a really big box. Weighs about 45 lbs. Has a Gustaffsen tall screen on it. (Message edited by firemanjim on January 04, 2007) |
