Is that a right side air scoop I see? In comparing the XB12Ss with the STT, it looks like the gear ratios are the same, but the primary drive ratio on the STT looks to be lower.....ie...lower range, higher number...34 vs 38. (Message edited by Ray_R on November 15, 2006) |

Rocketman, You articulated that well. I agree. Many here act as if you were speaking about Jesus if you say anything less than praise of Buell but the rules of business are easy. Win more time than you lose. I agree this bike will get eaten alive by the press for its wannabe hints. I do like your idea of branding as a "dirtfighter" that make sense and no side by side comparisons with bikes that were designed from the ground up for that purpose. Last night I was thinking Buell needed to pull that bike off its site ASAP to avoid the negative press, but after your post all they really need to do is refine the name and description to be more accurate. |

Guys I think you're looking at this wrong. And it's not your fault either, it's the marketing arm of Buell. It has nothing to do with the Uly (except the beak). It is a 1200cc CityX. I bet Ulendo is breaking out his wallet as I type. If you want rearsets on your uly, here ya go... Or if you want fork protectors without the fender, here ya go. Now here's a parts bin special I'd like to see, going the other way: a 900cc Uly-like beast with wire wheels, even lighter weight, and more true dualsport accomodations. I wouldn't even mind a 17 front just to frustrate the naysayers. You can contract with Pirelli for more adequate MT-60 sizing and be a hero to boot. Yo Anony, hint-hint! |

Personally, I like the concept of the new TT. I just look at is as the XB12 version of the CityX with additional features. From my perspective, I have always been challenging HD and Buell to come up with a street tracker and a supermoto based on the XB1200 engine. Now, both of them have put me into a bind concerning which bike to buy. Assuming both will have relatively similar performance levels, I am still going for the XR1200 compliments of more relaxed seat to handlebar ergo's and the fact that I like to see more engine. However, Buell's frame simply won't allow that. Still, with the Uly ergo's on the TT, I just might have a problem with a buying decision come spring. |

Is that a right side air scoop I see That IS a right side air scoop on this new bike. So, remember when I GOT HAMMERED by guys here (esp. Blake) for suggesting that Buell blew it by NOT including this scoop on its XBs. What we got back was, "hey, the factory guys know best!" Well, I guess they DO eventually! Now, here is a prediction, Blake will be here with a "yeah but!" in a millisecond, pointing out that just because this is a scoop on THIS bike, etc, etc. Its just a prediction, but I would put money on it! |

that right side air scoop is the same as all the XBs have had since the 03 model year. What are you looking at? |

If you go on the website, the orange bike in the gallery has a right side scoop on it. Several others do NOT. Weird, no? |

There is no air scoop on any of those bikes. Well, not one any different than what has been on them all. |

Actually there IS a scoop in the pick where the guy is laying over the bike. Check out the link I sent, not the pic your posted. It is NOT consistent in the gallery photos. If I new how to post that photo here I would. |

Go to the link above and then to the last picture on the bottom of the gallery shots. The guy is leaning into a left turn and his bike has a scoop on it, no doubt. |

Yes, I see that some air just might get between that plastic and the fins. Behold the Flat-scoop. |

Now that I look at it again, I see your point. I haven't had my stock "scoop" on for several years so I had remembered it as much smaller. Sorry, my mistake! PS-They SHOULD add one though! |

Look closely at that second picture... The timing cover is gone! Guess the rivits are not new for 2007 Or the new covers did not get back from the supplier in time for the photoshoot And does that wire stick out like that on my 05 9sx? I don't recall seeing it, but maybe it's there. |
