I was at my dealer this weekend and they were talking about a new buell super tt. but said they would'nt know anything else until this week. I cant find anything on buell.com any one have any info?? | ||

It has black rims, a different seat and tail section, and I bet a lower seat height.I like it and it should be given a chance. Wait until you see the specs.With that color scheme it looks like it is ready for police duty. | ||

I'm overwhelmed... with sleep. Actually, now that I've had time to digest the photo a few minutes a couple of questions come to mind: Is it lower than the ULY? Is first gear lower than the ULY? Why not just lower the ULY? Looks like the XB12S with a ULY front fender. Where are the specs??? It's the offspring of a Uly and and CityX. That's good but I was hoping beyond hope that somehow the Troy, Wisconsin boys had packaged the V-Rod engine in a Buell inspired frame. If that doesn't eventually happen then something is just wrong. Looks like a XB12SX. It doesn't look at all bad in white... Wouldn't mind my Uly turning white overnight... Eh.. we will see. Seems as if this is Buell's philosphy. Change a little bit, but keep the core focused. | ||

Seems like they could easily have made small sidecases instead of number plates. They would not have to be big, just enough to hold rain gear, some tools, and such. The beak and the fork guards are wonky to me. I like the fork guards on my HP2 much better, simple, sleek and effective. The exhaust outlet looks odd to me, like an afterthought. | ||

 I get frustrated seeing buell recycle the same bike parts over and over.. and saying it a "new" bike.. no its not its the same bike with the uly frame and lightning body.. whats that different about that.. I was really hoping for something amazing, new and different..im disappointed to say the least. | ||

To us owners it's a yawner, but to those looking seriously at getting a Buell, it's probably a plus. Now where is the V-Rod engined Buell. That would wake us all up, I'm sure of that. Actually, if all the Buell engineers can do is make parts bin specials then they should make a ULY low. I'll bet that pisses someone off in Troy. | ||

Very Harley-esqe to call a parts-bin special a new model. I like it. Would take this over a Uly any day, plus it's $1K cheaper. A regular Lightning front fender (painted or carbon) would fix the beak problem. Only question is, what's behind those "number plates"? What would show if one just took them off completely? | ||

If you could make the number plates work, they'd be great for hiding the bag structure when you don't have the hardcases on your Uly. | ||

I don't get it. The description reads more like the instructions for a coloring book. The huge flat plastic plates sides do not mesh with the naked look. Reminds me of fake wood on an old station wagon. | ||

Supermoto inspired? Puh-leeze. What a colossal disappointment. I bet the supermoto guys are having a field day with this. Note to Buell management: If you are not going to continue to innovate, improve, and evolve the product, at least stay true to your core. Don't try to be something you're not. One thing that is cool is now you can use some RIT dye and create your on custom colors on a lightning model. Kind of like the early Firebolt owners with the white plastic and cool dye jobs. | ||

just for clarification, from what i understand they have been saying all along "supermoto styling" not this bike is supposed to be a supermoto bike, I like the looks of a supermoto and have no use for a supermoto bike, So this makes a reasonable competition for the new Ducati and the KTM Superduke, which aren't supermoto's either! | ||

The KTM is a 'super' Duke, which implies its superiority over the lesser / smaller models. In this case that would be a V twin engine, which KTM harnessed in a chassis and style befitting their image, not a Supermoto image. Nowhere have I seen KTM call their Super Duke a Supermoto. Ducati similarly have not called their soon to be released a Supermoto either. They have gone with Hypermoto. Again I have not seen Ducati call their bike a Supermoto. I'm sure both companies however are happy to make the relationship between Supermoto and their models somewhat fitting of Supermoto design influences. Buell have jumped on a marketing band waggon. The TT, which is a marketing pisstake in itself, has nor bears no reference to a Supermoto what so ever. This form of advertising is a lie to the uninitiated. The bike is in poor taste as is the sales blurb they are trying to push with it. The domain of the Supermoto and the street bikes they influence should be left intact. Several years ago Buell called their XBR's 'Sportsfighters'. No one muscled in on Buells idea and likewise Buell shouldn't disrupt the genre of Supermoto by seeking to change peoples perception of what one is. Several million Americans are at risk of bastardising a European genre because of shit like this. Supermotos are as European as Harleys are American. At least if Buell are going to jump in on the band waggon, GET THE STYLE OF THE BIKE RIGHT or leave the Supermoto theme well alone. Better still, why not call it a 'Dirtfighter' or something fittingly American? Can't we have anything without you bastards invading us  Rocket | ||

I belive supermoto originated in the US in the '70s when it was called the "superbikers" series.  | ||
