Just curious if anyone has customized the rear tail section of an X1. Im kind of partial to the slim look of the S1 tail section. The X1 has that big bulky aluminum tail piece and I just dont dig it. |

The X1 is pretty easy. The tail comes off, and leaves you 4 mounting points. Graft up a frame/ and tail of your choosing. Chase |

The polished aluminum X1 has an aftermarket tail section (from Germany) that is pretty popular in Germany. You can kind of compare it to the black bikes stock tail section to see the improvement.

1313 thats much better. Slims it up a little bit and gets rid of that big lunch box over the air cleaner. Thanks for posting that. |

If you do ditch the original tail, I might be interested in buying it off of you if it isn't scratched up or anything. |

You could powder coat the tail section |

I worked over the X1 tail for my M2. Alittle cutting and some thinking with ALOT of polish time. Then had the seat made over my custom seat pan. I will put some better pics up soon.

I like this last one. Any clue as for what was done for the oil tank? |

Car -- since the bike isn't a runner at the point the shot was taken, I'm bettin a oil bag will live in more or less that stock location |

Palerider has a cool tail section on his X1. I don't have any pictures but here's the basics... Welded a sheet of aluminium to the bottom of the stock tail. Smoothed all the welds and then had the entire piece chromed. It looks very sweet on the bike! |
