I'm still waiting to see what the consensus for the IMS before I commit. I'm thinking about riding the Uly and staying in town ... not sure. Definitely going though. Laguna tickets are purchased and reservations have been made. Casey (my son) and I are going to make a motorcycle trip out of it ... at least 8 days! We haven't got all the details worked out yet but we got plenty of time ... we'll be looking for you Bob! Ron, Ulysses in Seattle |

Roberta and Michelle - I knew about your gayer'n shiat showers, but I didn't know there was more to this than just a I wash your back you wash mine kind of a thing. Looks like Debbie and I missed that part of the memo and to think all we ever did was share body oil. - HUH! Well I think something super duper special is in order - perhaps a really super duper cool motorcycle quilt that can be given away at the Saturday night dinner. Of course the winner must have ample room to pack it home (like a lap size quilt) - something cool and snuggly. I will work on that. 10 years, wow - I can only claim 4 of those. But I have 17 to claim with Mike *cough* Michelle - sorry Roberta but he is mine (unless you want him)! Kimberlie |

Jimmy,IIRC the 2001 has pipes routed differently --early ones go over frame from rear cylinder, late ones go under. You need late S-3,M-2,X-1 stuff. |

OH MY GOD! I lost one of the bolts that hold the rear brake caliper on the hanger. Went down to the freakin' Hardly shop to get a new ONE! Guess what? They only sell it as an assymbly. The hanger and TWO bolts cost $159.00. No specks on the bolt available. sheesh.... Gona see if RoadRash has one on his bent-up Redhead. gimme a break in Tacoma, Galen |

Galen That bolt should be readily available from and import motorcycle shop. I think it's an M8 metric fastener. Just take the other bolt off and head to a Honda or Ducati shop. Let me know if you need me to mail you one down. Cheers FunJimmy |

Jimmy, your the greatest, but... it's a weird bolt, not threaded all the way down. Really it's the head end that has no threads... and the other bolt is a different dealio all together. Gona just sneak down to the dealer with a spanner in me pocket, eh? Gona see you soon. Christmas spice will be in order! sooner, Galen |

Dr. Jimmy M.D., you was right about the bolt. And as soon as I got home and installed it I looked down and the lost unit was right by my toe. And speaking of BadWeatherBikers, it was sure wet on my way to school today. People are not used to seeing guys in leather jeans here on campus... but I think the girls like it. sooner is getting sooner,(IMS) Galen |

I too could be persuaded, if ... ... it's not dumping buckets like the last time I headed that direction. Actually I could probably be persuaded even if it's raining. It would be good to ride with Bob again (you sure Bob isn't spelled with 2 o's?) Ron, Ulysses in Seattle |

Well I just checked the weather and it looks like there may only be a *few* showers Sunday. I don't think it will be enough to scare me off. We can make a final decision hopefully later in the week. The ride I'd like to do, is a ride I did about 2 weeks ago. It rained pretty hard about 50% of the ride. It was still a lot of fun. GS guy from advrider put it together and I would change the route slightly. Ron started out with us, but detoured and did a wet solo loop around the Oly penisula. (what a nut!!) We could meet Sun morn at the Edmonds ferry and catch the 8:40 to Kingston. From there we'll go through Port Gamble, then over the Hood canal bridge. We'll turn north and travel through Port Ludlow on our way to Marrowstone Island, where Ft Flagler is. From there we continue to travel north. Before we reach Port Townsend and having lunch at maybe the Water Street Brewery and Ale House,http://waterstreetbrewing.com/, we will invade Old Ft Townsend. After a good meal, Ft Worden will be a lot of fun. There are a number of old concrete cannon bunkers to explore within a very short walk from the parking lot. The second ferry takes us from Port Townsend to Keystone on Whidbey Island. It is then a very short ride to Ft Casey. Still heading north we will cross over Deception pass to Fidalgo Island. Then we will start to head west to the mainland and through La Conner, Dodge Valley Rd (read: TWISTIES), then south on Pioneer Hwy to Stanwood. If we still not ready for I-5, there are still backroads all the way to Marysville. At that point, we are almost forced onto I-5. It may be getting dark anyway. Should be a fun scenic day. Put up a post soon and let me know if this is going to work. TTYL, Jerry, aka Debueller } |

Not to be a dick, but what if it snows? My parents are in Kent and they got a pretty good dusting of it on Thanksgiving weekend... just a heads up, i hate riding in the snow |

Of course if it snows, we won't be going. The only time I willingly ride in the snow is in the dirt on my XR. Even then, it's dicey. But the weather forecast is calling out for a *few* showers and temps in the 40's starting on Fri. Sunday might even reach 50. We'll have to keep a close eye on the weather forecast. We should be able to nail down firm plans by Fri. |

Canadians; most excellent decision to come down early for fun in Warshington! Are you leaving after work? During? Gona skip it all together?(this has my vote) Anywho I'll be seeing you all this week which is just freakin' dandy. sooner, Galen ... p.s. this goes for you too... |

I'm bummed that I won't be able to see all my Yankee buds this weekend. Jaci and I were really looking forward to the idea. But life has got us double booked (triple, actually) so the IMS is a miss. Cycle World featured a Sportster street-tracker concept bike that was at a show in Germany. I wonder if it'll be there. And you wackos going for a Sunday ride?!! That's on skidoos, right? Have fun, all. Miss you. |
