So tell me, when you do the 10k fork oil change, is there anyway you can damage the fork seals?

ps.
See my other thread if you want to know why I'm asking http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/238959.html?1163092193

I guess you may be able to if you overfilled the forks with oil.
Did they fix it?

I had a problem getting my fork oil changed at the dealership. When I got the forks back the rebound screws didn't even do one full turn out. I brought it back and talked to the tech and said that you don't touch those changing the fork oil. That might be true but they were for a fact over one turn out before I brought the forks to them. They did sort of fix it but now one of my adjustment screws is an 1/8 of an inch further down in the fork than the other one.

There is a minor possibility your could damage the fork seals if you know what you are doing, it is much more likely that they moved them in the normal course of work and expanded an already inherent defect. They should have caught it when they did the service and repaired it then, you would probably have to pay for parts, but I wouldn't charge for the labor. They should have had the parts in stock since they are switching to the same ones as the soft-tails use.

That's good input Deltablue. I will try and give them the benefit of the doubt if you say so.

Certainly would help if someone there took a second to explain what you just did... I might be less inclined to think they screwed up royally and are trying to deny responsibility.

I've got a dollar right here that says this is exactly whats going on. Anybody here want to bet against me?

Didn't think so.
