I'm pondering some mods and curious about the Uly tail housing (the piece that houses the tail light). Does anyone know with certainty if it is die-cast zinc or cast aluminum? Thanks! (Message edited by WarBaby on October 31, 2006) |

I think it might be aluminum, but I'm not sure. |

Thanks Lowflyer. I think it's aluminum too because of its structural function but I've been fooled by die-cast zinc in the past (sometimes called "white metal"). I may want to do some welding on it and if it's zinc, it would just liquify and collapse. |

I think I would try welding on part of the inside of it. It seems like there is some material in there that you could do a test on without causing any real or cosmetic damage. |

It might come to that. |
