Thanks guys, hopefully it won't become an epic, though the Harley mechanic told my GF's MUM that a Buell would be the last bike he would take into Asia! I'll respond individually where possible as we get underway but internet speed may limit posts/emails till we get back to OZ. We'll send the Uly to the US from Bangkok, it will be an emotional parting! Hopefully we'll get the chance to have a beer with a few of you as we travel, the plan is to eventually circumnavigate each continent before we start a family! |

Been there done that, starting again! Took me 50 years to find the right one, though I have a fantastic 21 YO daughter that makes the first marriage worthwhile! |

Get home to Melbourne Victoria tomorrow for a week and will be Uly-less, she's on her way to KL! Natalie has done a great job getting the paperwork in order, hopefully when we get to Malaysia we can put the Uly back together and ride into the sunset (actually it will be mid-morning when we get to the customs area) Thanks to those who have offered help/assistance, hopefully the Uly will live up to the "Adventure Bike" tag and all will be well! My mobile/cell phone is (add the code to get you out of your country) +61 407 789 661 if anyone get's lonely! (Message edited by brat on October 28, 2006) |

Zowie!! what a trip. Interesting photos of the crate and Uly. I've often thought of shipping mine somewhere far away then catching up with it on an airliner. Your living my dream. If your interested, on your way through Washington state and Oregon, (I've been riding here all my life) I'll run with you and guide you through the Pacific NorthWest. Mount ST. Helens (volcano) and Mt. Rainier (14,410') in the Cascades, pavement, gravel, rivers, lakes, dams, cities (Seattle), Puget Sound, Islands, desert, Pacific ocean, LOTS of great microbreweries, rainforests, beautiful campgrounds, the Int'l borded crossing (Canada), I could go on and on. I'm not far from Whistler and I have lots of maps. We could work out a custom route for you. Your choice, your distance, your time frame. If your interested shoot me a PM. Some of the best rides I've had in an unfamilar place is with the locals. BadWeB members in British Columbia (thanks Ulendo, aka Chris) and Idaho (thanks Windrider, aka Neil) both guided me on great rides last summer. They both taylored a ride to what I wanted to see and experence and on my time frame. Doing the same for someone else would be my way to give something back. Jerry BTW, July in the PNW is awesome. Dry, warm and not to hot. I save all my vacation time for the summer, so I'll have the time.
