Is there a torque value for the steering head bolt or just the spring scale measurement? I didn't see a torque value. Thanks |

>>> spring scale measurement? Observe it diligently, err on the "low" side. |

Are you guys saying "Not too tight"? I guess I'm asking because I'm reading about torque values for Harleys and such and the values are like 100 lbs. Seems pretty tight to me. Thanks |

Read and adhere to the BUELL SERVICE MANUAL. If you don't have it order it. If you need something to tide you over, send me a note with your year, model and what you need and I can send you the page. Court |

I adjusted per the manual which doesn't list a torque value. Only a spring scale measurement. I have seen a post on here about a slight clunk when pushing the bike with the front brake applied. I think I have the same thing. I'm just wondering if it could be related to the neck bearings. If I push it without the front brake applied, I don't hear it. I tried with just the rear brake and also with the clutch engaged. I only hear it with the front brake applied. Would something with my sliders or brake cause a slight clunk? Thanks |

With your front brake applied, rock bike back and forth to see if front steering stem moves,if it does your adjustment is too loose. Your front brakes can makes all sorts of noises including a slight clunk. |
