I'm looking around too. I'm still using the stockers. (by the way, "Starlifter?" - C-141?) |

Where were you stationed? I was in Altus on 141's in the late 80's (Crewchief) |

Starlifter, Not meaning to contribute to the thread hijack - sorry about that. I'm an injuneer at Lockheed - that's why the question. I am re-doing the bike at the end of the season, if I have to have a custom set of wires built up, I'll probably stick with stock. (still looking) |

Starlifter Posted on Tuesday I would like better wires, anyone know who sells them? Are the stock wires defective? How many miles on your bike? I have a '06 Ulysses, with 4000 miles. Should I be expecting a plug wire problem too? |

My front wire was chaffed through at about 8K miles and upon destructive testing, found the spring that holds the end together and tight on the electrode was missing from day? |

My stock front wire was chafed to the point it was arching to the frame/tank. The front wire was also not connected to the coil, and was arching to make the jump. After cleaning and reconnection my cold cough went away and it revs up a bit faster. I would like to replace with a fat high temp shielded set of wires, if someone can find them. |

Don't know if they are sponsors, but iron machine sells 8mm wires in various colors. Made from Taylor wires. Or call DaveS I'm sure he can find you some too. |

I'm running the 8mm wires from Iron Machine. I didn't notice any difference in performance from stock, but I haven't had any problems either. I wasn't having any problems with the stockers, but decided to change my wires out when I upgraded my plugs to NGK Iridiums @ 5000 miles. |

We use Accel 300+ wires (listed for the X1). They are much longer than the stock wires (you can always shorten them) but work very well. |
