I use the Bar Snake, with Napoleon Bar End Mirrors.
I don't notice vibration in the mirrors.

I have the heavier bar ends for my throttle meister. It truly kicks butt and the weights did help to reduce vibration.

It's awesome on long trips.

I won a pair of Spider grips from American Sport Bike at a recent SCAB ride, and I can say they are definitely an above-average product.

I tried the Spider grips but switched to the Buell grips and I prefer them. I also installed the Barsnake and it did make a difference in the vibration

TBH, the spiders are only my second grips on the bike. Can't say if they're better than the Buell brand stuff or not.

Ain't Bad Web the greatest?

I was thinking about some new bar ends, but wasn't sure what to do.

Presto! A new thread on Bad Web, and a product by one of the brothers, Johnylunchbox!! ( HVMP Bar Ends to be precise.)

Next thing your know, the post man is knocking on the door, and a few minutes later the deed is done!

sss

Real nice product too. Totally eliminates vibration at cruising speeds, (4000 rpm), protects my new CRG levers and look cool all for $55 bucks. Can't beat it.

Thanks everybody!!

Before you spend the $$$ on a bar snake,
Get 100% silicone caulk and a gun and fill your bars.

Cheap and the same thing as the bar snake.

Only you can't really remove the caulk ;)

My HVMP bar ends came in just in time. I decided to go all out and get the xheavy model. Damn they shipped those things out fast.

I am not 100% sure, but I think you can use an oversized O-ring between the grip and the barend and make your own throttle-meister.

Yep Cochise, that's an "old school" trick.
You need just enough drag to overcome the throttle return spring.

Try a Caterpillar PN 8M4991 O-Ring which is a yellow silicone ring.

The BMW guys on ADV Rider seem to like that one.

I had to carefully adjust where I positioned my Napoleon barend mirror with the Traction grip before tightening it or it was snug against the grip end, overcoming the throttle return spring, giving me an unwanted throttle control.

Isham, the bar snake is generally for standard tubular handlebars. It probably won't do much for the short 9R clip ons. Your bar ends already take up a bit of the space inside the clip on, so adding a short lenght of bar snake will likely have little effect.

In addition for more comfort I would also add the Buell traction grips or a gel grip.

Also if vibrations are worse you might want to see if your primary chain is out of adjustment. My 12R was vibrating badly, but was much better after taking up the primary slack.

I have the traction grips plus the HVMP. Usually my throttle hand gets numb on me. Just wondering if everyone else gets the same effect.

Yikes, do you do anything a work that might contribute to a carpal tunnel problem?

With the traction grips and heavy bar-end you should be in great shape vibration wise.

Another thing to look at is your posture when riding. Do you carry upper body
weight on your arms or on your abdominals?

If you "slouch" and use your arms to carry your body weight it can cause the numbness,
and it can cause excessive/un-intended inputs into your steering.

Hope this helps, I'm not trying to be critical of your riding style : )

I work on computers but, I dont get carpal tunnel on the PC. When I started out riding I would put more weight on my hands and I would feel pain on my wrists but I dont do that anymore. I guess thats something I have to work out myself.

Isham, I don't know if you have short or long arms, but sometimes scooting yer butt forward or backward a few inches can change the angle of your wrists. Ideally your elbows should be slightly bent and your wrist stright out as an extension of your forearm.
