I have a HJC that is approved by the British Road Council, or somethin like that. It cracked all the way thru and I still got a cuncussion bad enough I can't drink alcohol for 6 months! There certification is a little more in depth than DOT and SNELL. I am not sure about the impact testing BUT, I read that they are not only tested for impact.
