I'll tell ya about helmets. I have a HJC that is approved by the British Road Council, or somethin like that. It cracked all the way thru and I still got a cuncussion bad enough I can't drink alcohol for 6 months! Can't imagine what would have happened if I had a novelty or half helmet on... |

Does the British Road Council have higher standards than DOT? I'm just wondering because you didn't mention DOT and I'm in the market for a new helmet this winter. Gregg |

Thanks Bomne, nice t' meet ya New Dude! There certification is a little more in depth than DOT and SNELL. I am not sure about the impact testing BUT, I read that they are not only tested for impact. They have EMT's (or whatever the UK equivilant is) remove the helmet from a crash test style dummy to see how easy the helmet is to remove after a accident... |

NP, You can only get them in the UK. The only reason I have one is cause the Spider-Man Offical movie helmet was only available in the UK due to licensing reasons...
