One week later and the weather is about 80 degrees outside the last couple of days with about the same expected for the weekend. It is usually great weather this time of year but just got a little unfortunate last friday. I'm gonna try to make Willow Springs next month there Steve so save up some good racing to watch. |

I still have an agreement with Jeff Dixon and his Father to let him race my bike the rest of the season. He is capable of getting a "real" ride with his skills so he has priority. If he doesn't show up or their "A" bike is running well, I may ride. If so, it'll be my first time on the racetrack since I ended up in a wheelchair a year ago February. I'm getting the itch BAD! |

Joanne, My only recommendations for next years is that I am able to attend. Hehe. I am sure the bike will be fixed long before then. |

No, the weekday meeting would be the first of the even months. There is supposed to be a ride destination for the first Sunday of this month. Eric and I are figuring that out now, it's likely going to be a short one with a meeting at Cooks corner this sunday so that we can figure out the plan for the even month weekday meetings. I'll be sending out a mail to the mail list tomorrow after Eric and I talk again. Al |

The Southern California BRAG group (Biggs is the sponsoring dealer) and the unaffiliated SCAB (Southern California Area Buellers) used to have two separate mail lists, but it was too much trouble to maintain 2 mail lists so I just merged them together. I have all your info, I'll add you to it. Al |

Greetings fellow Buellers, This coming Sunday (Nov. 5th) is the first sunday of the odd month, which means it's BRAG ride day. This particular Sunday isn't going to be a long ride like that past couple have been. We're going to meet at Cooks Corner in Orange County at 11:00 AM for a meeting to discuss some key group business, in particular: 1) Schedule and meeting place for what has been the Thursday Even month meetings. 2) The new Laguna Seca 2nd AMA event that has been scheduled in 2007 and of course, the usual stuff. Thursdays at Knollwoods are impossible for Eric and have always been a conflict for me, so we need to do something different. We had a small group present some options at the last even month meeting held on Wednesday Sept. 6th, but we need more discussion to figure out the best option for that. Knollwoods on Wednesdays are possible but it isn't a general motorcycle night like Thursdays are. Some other motorcycle night hangouts were mentioned as possibilities. Doing the first Sunday of odd months as more of a meeting than a ride (kinda like this Sunday's meeting), with the even months being more of a ride than a meeting (like the past couple rides to Big Bear and Glendora Ridge) will be was another option. Bring your ideas. New for 2007 is a second Laguna Seca AMA Event, September 16/17, 2007. The MotoGP/AMA event in July will still exist, and we still have the camping spots for that. We will discuss whether we want to, as a group, commit to trying to acquire and fund similar camping spots for the September event. Ebear will give us a more detailed presentation of what he knows. Ebear is going to the season finale SuperMoto Event at the Queen Mary right after the meeting on Sunday, so please try to be there by 11:00 AM. I'd like to be covering club business as mentioned above by 11:30 or so. For folks coming from San Diego way, I'll lead a ride up to Cooks from Biggs San Marcos at 8:30 AM. I'm thinking we'll go via Deluz to Killen trail up to Ortega Highway. Be at Biggs by 8:20 if you want to go with us. See ya'll there. Al |

I won't be able to make this weeks ride :-( - my bike is in the shop having some warranty work done. On the list is; Sidestand Fan (it died) ECU wires (seatpan is rubbing through the sheaths) Belt (touches the guard when you push the bike backwards). Have a great ride - hopefully some one will take some pictures to share. Cheers -Jack |

Erik, I checked the American Sport Bike database for it, you're not in there yet. So just send me your contact and bike info and I'll add you to the list. Sparky, Tom and I were just leaving as the wreck happened. The corner worker got hurt pretty bad. Eric had done corner working the day before, they drafted him into working the last two races. Al |

Good sequence of the impact of the rider/cornerworker. http://www.vitalmx.com/photo/displayimage.php?albu m=803&pos=0 Can't say enough about these folks out there doing this stuff. Not like anybody's retiring young and wealthy doing cornerworking! |

Got my hotel room reservation in Palmdale for Saturday night so I can watch the Glendale brigade racing at Willow Springs on Sunday. I have to work Saturday so it will be late in the evening by the time I make it over there. As long as I get there in time to go to Famous Dave's for some BBQ and booze I'll be a happy camper. One of the techs from my automotive dealership in Santa Maria is suppose to be making his pro debut in the open class so we will be whooping it up for him to try not to get lapped. Hope to see some of you there. |

For all folks that were on the Southern California BRAG/SCAB Mail list. You should have received an email from me recently. I've received a lot of responses, but just in case some aren't reaching their intended destinations, I'll post it here too. IMPORTANT: Please read if you want to stay on the mail list for So.Cal Buell Activities. With the discontinuation of BRAG now a done deal, I'm going to change things around a little bit. One of the first changes I'm going to make is to get a mail list that reflects who really is an active participant or still wants to be notified of happenings with the SCAB (Southern California Area Buellers). Due to privacy policies of BRAG, I haven't sent mail messages with the recipients visible to the entire list. I think this is bogus. We're either a club that communicates freely with each other, or we're hardly a club at all. So, if you are getting this, please reply if you want to stay on the list. If I don't hear from you, then I will assume that you don't care to remain on the list and will delete your email address. Also, indicate if you want your email address to be visible to the other members, so that they can contact you without going through me. If you don't specifically tell me to be kept on the BCC list, you will show up on the TO list of future emails. Note that mails sent out will now generate replies that will go to all non-BCC members as well. We'll actually be able to communicate with each other via emails. What a concept. So, send a mail to alighton-at-adelphia-dot-net that says: "Keep <emailaddress@whereever.com> on the SCAB TO list" or "Keep <emailaddress@whereever.com> on the SCAB BCC list" OR, if you haven't been on the list but want to hear about happenings/rides/etc., send a mail like above to get added. I'll send out a mail to the entire new list in a few days. Eventually I'll figure out how to automate the whole mail list server thing so that folks can subscribe and unsubscribe and such on their own. Maybe we'll even create a SCAB web page..any good web authors out there that want to tackle that? Hosting isn't a problem, but I'm no web designer. Al |

Anybody going to make the Long Beach IMS? I'm actually invited to do Buell booth duty on Saturday. It's about time that I sing for my supper - trade some of that tech support they've given me and my racing buddies for some PR as a Buell customer. Gonna be fun! |

Saro - Prolly meeting up at Denny's as kinda/sorta usual. I have to talk to Mario about booth duty and it looks like I'm going to be driving this year (call me a wimp, it's deserved) I'll post a time here but yep - the Denny's would be the plan. |
