Basically this is the thread I'm starting as an extension of C3. If you were at the Meeting, I told you about a group of us guys (and 1 girl) who Meet every Sunday at 9:00 (0900 for all you leftover jarheads) at Bojangles on HWY 17 in Jacksonville. Basically, it's a bunch of us from this area who meet and hit the twisties in the semi local area. Carlos, i know you asked and I said I would post it. I won't be out this Sunday, but as far as I know, it's still on for Next Sunday. I will post and let you know as time gets closer. There's a couple o' kids that show up, but mostly a bunch of us middle aged and undermiddleaged guys. I'd say the age bracket is about 26-55. Most of us are in the Mid 30's. But, don't sell the old guys short, they're the craziest ones. See ya Mark |

Thanks in advance for keeping us updated on this! I, too, am very interested in this. I look forward to seeing what the 'locals' can show us in the Jacksonville area. Thanks again, 1313 |

Sunday is a go, weather permitting. Actually went out today and there was about 10 of us. Great ride. Did old maple, pleasant hill, and all the roads between 24, 53, 258, 40, and any others that went by too fast. It was a good time. Ended up doing old maple about 5 or 6 times. So, next sunday, if all goes well, we should be there. |

Nate - glad to see you came over! There are Buellers in Jacksonville, New Bern, Wilmington and we're in Grifton. More are in central NC and out west. Although we're spread throughout the state, there's a lot of chatter here on BadWeb! Post on the main section and you will meet more of the C3 group. Welcome! |

Yea, i got some pics, but they were just at the stop. Once I minimize the size of them, I will post them. I'll send you a couple. You are more than welcome any Sunday. Ron (the guy who was leading) is my neighbor. Once in a while we go out semi solo. I'll be sure to include you. Believe it or not, that was a pretty slow pace compared to 2 weeks ago. It was getting out of hand there for awhile. Finally, it's getting reasonable. You came on a great day. The rest of you missed out. Buells keeping up. Twisty roads and not one time did we hit Old Maple Hill. Mark |

Mark that was pretty fast for me! I bounced off the limiter at least once in 5th! Thats about as fast as I feel comfortable riding on the street. I think i'm just getting old! haha I hope i can get a few more rides in before they send me away! Thanks again for the invite! Nate |

Sunday, weather permitting. If it's not raining when you wake up, then, it's on. We usually meet around 9 at Bojangles on the 17. Some days it gets pretty fast (the tempo), Nate could probably attest to that. There's really only about 5 or 6 of us regulars. Everyone else is just hit or miss. (First timers or some we haven't seen in a while.) Like I said, some days there's 5 of us, then some days there's 16 like there was last Sunday. |

I had a blast! I hope to be there again if I don't have to be on base for anything. I'm in the middle of checking into my new unit (2/6) and they are getting back from the field on Saturday night so we will see. See you if I can! Nate |

Just so you know, I won't be out there this coming weekend. Most of the guys will be in Talladega. I won't. I'm from Oregon, I'm not a NASCAR "NECK." But, if there are any other NASCAR nuts out there.... NO disrespect. I like hockey. That makes me an outsider most everywhere in the United States. Anyway, Enjoy. Mark |

Nuts - Wanted to be there this yesterday but realized that I have one week before Boone and I have allot to do around here before I am ready to go. I studied most of the weekend only taking a break to change the headlight bulbs to the Sylvania Silver Stars and re-align the lights. I have to change out the brake pads and I finally washed the bike tonight, so slowly I am getting ready. So I will not make it this coming up weekend and probably not the next weekend because I will be catching up, but hopefully in three weeks I will try again to make it to the Jacksonville ride. Hey, after last season allot of us Tarheels have a new found respect for Hockey. Heck we were the rednecks that Stole the Stanley and moved it south of the Mason-Dixon line. Okay, I only watch the playoffs, but they were good games. |

Fear not, I won't be making it on account that I have to replace my tires. 1,600 miles and the 208's are getting ready to become the final installation in the new "tire swing" in my front yard. I'm putting on the "new" Qualifier's on my bike. They get to optimum temperature in 6 miles!! That's ridiculous. Anyhow, I am mounting and so on and so forth but, you can count on next weekend, weather permitting. Mark |

You can probably count on Mike being there. Here's the thing, there's talk of TStorms on Sunday out here. However, like I said, Mike, and his couple buddies (triumph riders) But, there is also track days this weekend so a lot of us won't be there. South Carolina is the destination this weekend. Quite honestly, Carlos, this would be a bad weekend to come down. Those of us that are any fun to ride with (maturity level) are all gonna be gone acting like kids on the track. Now, next weekend should be a totally different story. Everyone will be one weekend removed from track days ready to rip up the asphalt. Mark |

Just got back. You don't have to go to wilmington. There are plenty of great roads to ride out towards trenton, kinston and whatnot. You've got Pleasant Hill, Old Maple, Fire Tower Road, Pony Farm, Warehouser, Old 30, 41, Haws Branch, etc. There are literally maybe 50-60 different roads we hit. Lately, the speed has been getting kind of high, but, that's just the way it is. Other than that, the best riding is going on roads you've never traveled before. I have lived in NC for 4 months and can honestly say that I have traveled more roads than I even knew existed. We don't hang out around Jacksonville. We must do 200 miles on a Sunday. If it's a saturday... Could be upwards to 300. We just try to get ourselves lost sometimes. We just make sure we have a full tank. Anyway, the weather is supposed to be great for the next 10 days out here. Sound like an excuse to put in a good 700 miles. I'm trying to talk a bunch of these guys into hittin up a ride to Edenton, the long and winding road way. I did it myself 2 months ago and it must have taken me 3 hours to get to Edenton from Jacksonville. It was great. Super Slabbed it 1/2 way back just get home for supper. But, I hope you all got out today. It's a beautiful day. Side note.. Cold roads this morning. Cold Tires.... Scary for the first 10 miles. Lotta dirt and junk on the roads from yesterday's winds. Other than that... Beautiful Mark |

One of these days I am going to make it. If you do the Edenton ride, post it. I want to ride in that area too and could meet you guys on the way. Of course if you are doing it this week I will not be able to make it, but by next weekend I probably will be able to. |

no, it won't be this week. I can't get that arranged on such short notice. Gotta remember, these are mostly Marines. It really depends on their schedule most of the time. Later |
