As the subject line says ... I do have a post in the parts wanted section, but figured I would double the exposure and hit my fellow tubers up here as well. My 99 M2 seems to not be happy, seems she's lusting for an inverted fork set-up... OK - maybe it's me who's lusting for them ... but either way .. who's got some for us? Thanks Brian |

Check Ebay; there's a set of X1 forks up for about $550. |

Yea .. I already talked to him, add 45 for shipping ... looking at 600 and I still need headlight brackets and a fender... providing everything he has is as stated 'mint'.. I'd rather get it from someone in this community ... hopefully more trust here and keeping it in the family, so-to-speak I am not going to spend that much when they have been had for for 400 or less .. even for an XB front end .. Thanks though for the heads up. |

Do the inverted forks really make much difference? I've been really impressed with my M2's suspension. Then again, I'm coming off BMWs, so maybe it's just nice to have some road feel again. ::grin:: Seriously though, is the X1 front end terribly superior? How? |

It is better, but only really noticeable under aggressive riding. I want to swap mine because the forks on mine need to be gone through. The inverted forks are a bit more adjustable to my understanding .. and they just look good as well. I ride fairly hard so I think it's a worthwhile swap since my forks seem worn. |

The M2 fork isn't bad because it's a conventional fork, it's bad because the spring rate is too low for anyone over 160lbs and the high speed damping is too harsh. |

Good point, Even me being 170, hard riding and braking they are a bit soft ... I didn't mean to imply that conventional forks were bad btw .. just that for aggressive riders, USD's are a bit better |

Ask Bomber, he's done it. I intend to do it when I can lay hold of the necessary parts here. |

Tatu and me are in communication mode ;-} USD ARE better at race speeds, no doubt -- for mere mortals, on the street, the bestest reason to switch is the increased adjustability available with the USD fork -- if you can swing a good deal, it's cheaper than getting the stockers fettled to an equal level of perfomrance |

Well ... I got a set .. should hopefully get 'em by the middle of next week... Planning on putting them on the 28th or 29th ... that should give me a couple days to powder coat the trees black ... I will throw some pics up when it's all done. |
