Is anyone out in Buell land using soft saddlebags,on their Xbox,I don't do enough long distance riding to warrant the cost in Aussie dollars for the hard boxes,so I am looking for advice as to what anybody else may be using. Cheers From Downunder}} |

Phil, I have the hard luggage on mine now but when I first got it I used my old Ventura bag for a few months with great success. The one I have is almost made to fit over the beavertail and sit backwards so it is resting on the pillion seat - a very good fit. If you are carrying a pillion then obviously this isn't such a good option but you can fit the Ventura bag to the beavertail and run with it in the horizontal position if push comes to shove. |

I'm using the Cortech sport saddlebags and tailpack, and am very happy with them. My only gripe is that the rain covers seem to have a tendency to balloon when riding at speed. Other than that, they feel quite stable on the bike and capacity is fairly good (though probably nothing like the full HB hard-bag setup. |

I'm using Ventura bags. There is no need to buy the mounting brackets unless you ride with a passenger. I've had no problems at all |

My Ortlieb's have held up well for many road trips in nasty weather. http://www.aerostich.com/catalog/US/DryBag-Saddlebags-p-16156.html |

I like the look of the Cortech saddlebags but it looks like the Ortlieb's would hold more plus they're waterproof too. Can both of these be used with a passenger or don't they slide back far enough. Thanks |

I ride with a passenger and the Ortliebs regularly. |

I had the regular cortechs on for a 2000 mile trip just a week ago. They worked great, held pretty solid, and were easy on easy off. If you want soft saddles they would be a good way to go. I also had a ventura bag on the tail. Sorry for the full mug shot its the only pic I had showing the bags.
