What needs to be done to get rid of the stock front fairing . I would like to keep the original headlight and turn signals , but it looks like everything is attached to the same bracket . I don't want to have to do a lot of modification if I don't have to . I have seen a couple of bikes without the front fairing on this forum . Any info on how it is done would be appreciated . Thanks .

Well the hard way is buy custom bracketry, will fit - so no true biggie - however, most folks just cut off the top bracket support at the main bracket, sand smooth and hit with flat black rustoleum paint and your done. If you do a nice enough cut, sand, and paint job - anyone can - then it looks stock.

Go to JC Witney and do a simple search for universal motorcycle fairing.

I bought both and with the standard bars the $59 unit didn't fit. The Maier unit needed some shaping but I used the wind deflector mounts to attach it. YMMV
