Every time I let my firebolt 12r sit for more than 2 days I go to start it and it stalls out. I asked the dealership about this and they said "its just the way it is." Can I do anything to fix it |

try raising idle to spec, 1050-1150. many techs still set buells to the sportser spec of about 900, causes stalling when cold(among other problems). |

I asked the dealership about this and they said "its just the way it is. Find a new shop to get your services. (Setting the idle up a bit may help) |

Why is the idle set different for a sportster?? Isn't it the same engine? |

no. typical sporty 1200 makes about 60hp. buell 1200 makes 90-95, very different animal. the 5.7 in a late model vette needs to be tuned a little different than the one in my old 77 impala. basically the same motor, not really. |

And the Sporty is carburated while the Buell is fuel injected, diferent compression, valve timing etc. |

Carb Sporty is 1000 rpm and EFI Buell is 1050 rpm. A reduced idle can rob the engine of oil during hot conditions. |

Yes on the idle. Mine did the same thing and moving the idle speck cured it big time. |
