Patrick, you're welcome. Keep us posted on what you find - maybe start your own thread in the Knowledge Vault to keep your findings available for others who might be in similar situations. Henrik |

My mother called Friday and said my dad was in the hospital. I figured that since the weather was nice I'd just ride the bike up. Now that my daughter and her husband have a house in Eagan I went over and watched the Iowa State-Nebraska game with them. I had to get back home Sunday so I figured that I'd better not call. BTW, I was up there the week before, but I rolled thru town at 4am. I guessed that you wouldn't want a call at that time. We came back Monday during the day. It turned out that he was ok, just a fainting spell. |

Mike, Glad to hear your Dad is OK. Things can change real fast when they reach his vintage. You are right about the 4AM deal. However, it would have been Jan that was woken up as I was out of town! Glad to hear everything is well. Brad |

In this month's American Motorcyclist there's a short piece on the new Buell XBRR race bike. The brakes puzzle me. The article says that the front brake is a nine-piston caliper. Can that be right? 4 pistons on one side of the caliper and 5 on the other? |

Any "Elves" in the vicinity of Marquette, Michigan? There's been a disturbance in the Buell Force and I need a local contact if we have one. If you are in the area and can make a delivery, drop me a note. Thanks, Court |

Schnudfa, All of the XB12 exhausts covered in the exhaust shootout will fit an XB12SS. See ftp://ftp.americansportbike.com/outgoing/XB_Exhaust_Shootout_Test_Report.zip It's a 44meg download, so you'll need broadband. And Winzip. Al |

It brings me much sadness to announce that I must sell my 1999 Lightning. It is black with less than 6000 miles and mods: V&H pipe, ham-can intake, race chip, carbon fiber fairings, much more. I'm in Pittsburgh, PA and asking $4750. Any interest, email at cll12@dental.pitt.edu |

The demise of BRAG... I just received a letter from Buell announcing the termination of BRAG...Nothing in the letter really bothered me EXCEPT it did not address the reciprocal arrangement BRAG members have enjoyed with HOG...As an example of such I am a member of a local HOG chapter and not of a BRAG club (our BRAG club folded when our dealer was no longer a Buell dealership)... Many of you will be affected by this as the letter states that the local clubs will no longer be required to use the BRAG name... Thanks, Bob |

That's a bummer!!!!! I guess since most BRAG chapters were "step-childs" (or at least treated that way) that it was difficult to justify it's existance. Guess all my BRAG goodies just went WAY up in value anybody want a signed Home-comming poster.................... Neil S. |

I have a 98 S1 Lightning with 55,000 miles on it.I just had a new set of Dunlop sportmax D280s put on at a local Harley dealer. After about 600 high way miles I see the tire is starting to come apart at one of the mold lines that runs across the tire almost half of the way across. It is clearly on the line where the tire was molded. I just took it to the HD dealer and they said it looks like a cut and they cant do any thing about it.I know this is crap, it looks like this is where the tire tread seem is.Im worried it will get worse since most of my riding is on the high way.Has any one else had this problem with a dunlop.. |

All new tyres are covered by a manufacturers warranty. If the dealer refuse to send it back then contact Dunlop direct. It's worth remembering faulty tyres will endanger your life and the manufacturer knows this. I'm certain that Dunlop will be only too wiling to hear from you and offer their help. The only downside is you may have to buy a replacement tyre whilst the faulty one is tested by the manufacturer for defects as it seems your supplier is unwilling to offer a replacement even if you have to pay for it later if the manufacturer determines the problematic tyre is not their fault. Let us know how you get on. Rocket |

Hello everyone, I am a first time Buell owner as of just over one week. As far as Buells go, I am still wet behind the ears. However, I love my brand new ’03 XB9S!!!!, only 3km on the odometer when I drove it off the lot. It’s my baby. I am hooked; I don’t think I could ever own anything other than a Buell. I am from New Brunswick, Canada, so November is not exactly the best time of the year to go riding ( 6 to 8 degrees C, approx. 42 to 46 degrees Fahrenheit); but, the deal I got the bike was so good I could not pass it up. I went out several times already, but man is ever cold out!!!! The bike will probably go to sleep for the winter this week; unless, Mother Nature decides to give me a few more nice days. The reason I am writing is I want to get to know some fellow Buellers. Local would be nice, so next biking season we could go for a spin. But, meeting Buell owners from across the world would also be very cool. To be perfectly honest, this is also be the first time I am on a Forum (call me the 31 year old Forum Virgin… LOL) so a push start in the right direction would be great. Cheers, Tom |

Welcome Tom, I got my first Buell in August and I am really enjoying it. I am saying hello even though I am not local to you. I too have yet to hook up with any local riders but I know there are some around me near Philadelphia. This forum is great. I have been on forums for years and this one is really unusually good. |

Rocket is right. I have never seen that particular problem with Dunlop, but I do know that they are a very obliging company as a rule. If you contact them directly, I am sure you will get some action. Shame on your dealer for not helping you with that. Maybe they are just misinformed.(Dunlop will not pay for labor, however.) If you need help, call me. I will see what I can do. |
