september 30th i was riding to blora lake for the company picnic. i was doing a nice wheelie (kinda showin my ass in front of my buddy on his gixxer 600) as soon as i brought the front wheel down i got a little headshake that always happens when you bring it down. you don't have alot of control for a split second and thats when one of those ugly scion xb's (i later thought it was ironic that they're both xb's) came into my lane...... end of story. i hit the front left part of the car goin about 40. bike flipped, i went flying over the handlebars and did what the driver of the cage called "a very graceful landing". the worst part was that i was supposed to ride the bike home for leave (900 mile 12 hour trip) the next day. i did make it home after a last minute plane ticket. but the worst part is that i'm deploying to camp liberty, iraq next friday so i will not be home to see the bike get fixed or totaled. i'm hatin life right now. |

Man, you have some serious luck going your way to come out unhurt. Even though the bike is damaged, it'd be a whole lot worse if it were you! Glad you made it out fine! |

Glad you made it unharmed, wish I had been that lucky. And thanks for your service - stay safe in Iraq. Keith |

Glad your okay. However I'm glad it's not my car you hit. People always slate car(cage) drivers for doing stupid things but bikers can be just as bad. You really shouldn't be doing wheelies when there are other people around. Just my opinion but there you go. Norrie. |

Glad your ok but 2 things. You shouldn't be stunting around traffic, my best friends mom was killed by a guy putting a bike through her windshield. Second Ive never once had any shake from setting down a wheelie on my buell, Headshake is caused by your wheel coming down crooked. So i suggest you practice out in the middle of no where and learn how to set down your toy before you hurt someone or yourself |

Glad you're okay. Thanks for putting your neck on the line in Iraq and stay safe over there. I do agree with Frequency though. I've never had headshake other than when I didn't put the wheel down straight. If that isn't the problem I would start tightening things in the front end, but I guess that is neither here nor there at this point. Hopefully you'll be able to fix her back up when you get home! |
