So the other day I walk out to my bike after I get out of class and it was laying on its side. I'm not sure how it got that way the only thing I know is that it doesn't look like it got hit by a car or anything, more like somebody pushed it over.  It pisses me off that somebody would just push my bike over. Probably some guy with a rice rocket. It broke the left turn signal, broke left peg, bent the clutch lever, and worst of all it put a small dent in the frame from the clutch lever being pushed into the frame. I havn't had the bike that long and haven't had a chance to put frame pucks on yet. Is there anything that I can do about the dent or am I just screwed? If there is nothing that I can do, I guess I'll just buy some frame pucks and try to put it over the dent and hope it looks and works ok. Now my perfect bike is all F@#$%* up!    | ||

Man that's harsh. I've heard of XB's with less damage from a crash. Cover up the damage with pucks. I've seen XB's used on the track with alot more damage to the frame than that and they seem to be alright. It sucks that some SOB did that much damage by simply giving your bike a push. | ||

I don't know why pucks are not stock... It could have been saved... They always come back.... I assuming your classes are same every week.. If it were me.. I'd put the bike in the same spot same night and chill out in a car nearby... They'll be back.. You could also mike your bike up it wouldn't be hard.. If your stupid enough to push a bike over your stupid enough to go back over to look and say something self incriminating.. Frame damage$$$ your looking at a felony | ||

I don't think so. I'm not really sure. If anybody has stock pegs or clutch lever that is in good condition that they would like to get rid of I'm interested. I need a new shifter too, it got bent a little. It figures that this shit would happen to me.  | ||

Send me your address, and I will get a clutch lever in the mail to you. I recently changed mine out to CRGs. I kept it around in case I had dinger that messed up my clutch lever. So if it happens, I will be posting asking for it back  ! If you don't want to wait so long to get it in the mail, you can probably pick one up at a local dealer for pretty cheap. I don't mind giving mine up to help you out, though. | ||

Be on the look out for someone pushing your bike over, but based upon the side the damage is on, I would suspect that it fell over rather than being pushed. Sorry it happened. | ||

If you were attending class, I would assume you meant college? Don't most campuses have security cameras? Maybe someone was not watching it on CCTV, but it might have been caught on tape. Ask your security about it. Also, SOMEONE had to have seen it happen. Go to the same place at roughly the same time, and ask around. | ||

I would take a size 12 to the side of that guys car door, window and what ever else I could kick in....... What is wrong with some people today? It pisses me off that people do not respect other peoples property. An eye for an eye, is what I say. Well, it could have been worse..... I guess? I apologize for everyone getting mad about me saying "it was probably someone with a rice rocket." I'm just a little pissed still, but I still shouldn't make stupid assumptions. Its just always those guys that talk shit about my bike and no I don't ride like a crazy man around the school. But anyways, that is a good idea about the security cameras, I'm going to try to find out some info on monday. Arizona State University most likely has some cameras. | ||

Your bike fell over to the left. Wouldn't that be an odd way to push a bike over... towards the kick stand? Did you park your bike in neutral? Was the surface flat? What direction are the scratch marks going (up and down or front to back)? If they are front to back, your bike may have rolled forward off the kickstand. | ||

I agree that based on the side that the bike was damaged that it might not have been as malicious as if had it been on the other side. Once you get the frame damage covered and get a puck on it you'll feel better. If you do figure it out and go for revenge though, I would never ride it back to school again. I once had a convertible top slashed for apparently parking in someone's beloved spot. I spent hours trying to narrow down who it might have been. All good poker faces, damn. What kind of area was it parked in? Near the front or parked far away? Would cars backing up to leave be near your bike? Lots of foot traffic - or would someone have to happen upon it? | ||

Someone might have sat on it [Buells are surely inviting ] went vroom vroom a few times and did not adequately place/lock it on the stand upon dismounting , go walking away.... ker-plop , now running away ,no malice intended but damage done. Arizona heat ,kickstand puck required , somethin to displace the weight | ||

FWIW, My new Ulysses fell over when it was on the sidestand. I am usually pretty good about making sure the stand is down and forward and the bike is rocked back. Except for that one time.  I will never have any confidence in the Buell sidestand design. It cost me a lever, a handguard and a mirror. The frame puck did it's job though. | ||

It has been my experience that the guys riding japanese bikes tend to like the Buell look. It is the guys on H-Ds that tend to lump Buells in with "Jap Crap" and have been known to spit on etc.. Buells in the mistaken belief that they are a japanese bike. I'm not saying that is what happened here, just saying you may be looking in the wrong direction for an antagonist. A Xena alarm is a good idea if you are having trouble with people sitting on your bike when you aren't there. they are motion activated, and work nicely as a bit of a deterrent. They also make it hard to forget you have a disk lock on and try to ride away without removing it. | ||

I really dislike the new kickstands in this respect. You have to roll the bike back onto it instead of just flipping it out and leaning the bike over like ever other bike. It might be a safer design for us from a riding standpoint, but I also expect to see more stories like this that turn out to be because of the stand and a passerby sitting on the bike... I'm glad I have the old style stand and I'd probably swap out for it if I had the new one... | ||

Look in your parking spot for a kickstand sized hole in the asphalt an inch or two deep. Mine has sunk in asphalt in 90 degree temps. IMO it's mentally easier to cope with Mother Nature being responsible than a malicious a-hole. | ||

The kickstand thing is quick too. I have new pavement in my driveway and I use a flag stone, but I have come in before and left it for a min or so while I get my gear off and get settle before putting the stand on the flag stone, and it had put a 1/2 inch inpression in the pavement in that short of time. | ||

Saw a Goldwing "anchor" itself via center stand once in a Burger King parking lot on 90+ day .A friend and myself had to help the lucky couple (Bike somehow did not topple) jerk it free from the tarmac's "death grip". | ||

I'll bet the stand collapsed. You got to double check that thing to make sure it's down and back, otherwise what happened will happen.  | ||

Judging from the size of the dent and the location, I would not be certain it would completely conceal the dent. Due to it's position close to the "bend" in the frame. I would be looking at the CF Frame "protectors" (damage hiders) instead. For what it's worth- Someone backed into my bike just enough to nudge it backwards. Snapping the kickstand mounting plate/bolt send the bike to the ground. I'd go with operator error though if it were my guess. Not pointing at you or anything... but you are "new" to the bike right? | ||

I'm going on 1100 and some days straight riding my bike to work. It MUST be the kick stand... DAMN THOSE FOLKS AT BUELL! I'll bet they were in cahoots with BUSH when he cooked up Katrina TOO!!!! | ||

Too funny M1!  My bike, an '03 has a straight side stand, so no rocking back. Things to remember while parking a bike. Don't park pointing upwards. Keep bike in gear. Or you may just upset more than just yourself.  |
