My favorite memories from the visit.
The board track racers, I am by employment associated with a lumber related business the amount of wood used in the tracks, was STAGGERING!, AND the board track racers just look BAD-AZZ to me
check out the head gear next to the bike No brakes, little protective gear, those boys were bad to the bone.
When the "startup" was announced several of us went out side. Henrik and I encountered this gentleman. This ladies and gents is a REAL biker
Thats about it for the museum. (Message edited by oldog on October 08, 2006) |

We had lunch after leaving the museum, Bill headed home, an at that point may camera was full. We had cold pizza and beer for supper when we got back, man it was good. Sadly My time with the group was short now I would be leaving the next day for the ~300 mile ride home. In the morning Ferris started his semi-serious kidding about calling my boss to get me some more time, In the process I got a Treat I was NOT expecting, I had a 15 minute conversation with none other than Court, and heard the "rest of the story" Great start to the day! Remind me to tell you about it. I stayed with the group till mid morning We rode to Cherokee NC and got breakfast. I rode a short distince [several miles] down the park way, with them and in my heart wanted to continue on too. We said good bye and I pealed off for Asheville and home to Wilmington. I decided after a break near hickory that I 40 was not the way to proceed, 1 I am Heavy handed on the interstate. 2 The tires (back especialy) were "Burning up" and If I had tried to ride home on I40 at the speed I was moving I would have added a set of tires to the list of expenses (assuming that I did not get thrown into jail for 100+ speeds) I took the secondary roads and 74/76 route east of Charlotte and saved 100 miles or better.
I returned home early in the evening.
The Odo flipped over 18,002 when Crossed the CapeFear River heading to Colombia. A tall cool Ice Tea and a sit on the porch was the next order of business after unloading.
I moved in august from a place I call the CAVE to this place "The Tree House" and I now actualy have a porch. The hurricane just before the trip was cool to watch from there. |

Some odd pics from the trip
On the Wall at BOB's place.
Caution: In the mountains most folks will interpret "Chick" as one of these. Women are refered to by more common names....
For some reason the discussion went to piercing Jersy says that "Chicks" dig this, The only lady present only found that concept "Highly amusing" ...
You get the idea that JB2 rides his scooter... I did ..
When Ferris handed these to Mike they caused a stir, Note the background behind the second shot.
The second shot
What a simpleton I am, to think that Women riding (driving) is a new thing. The lady had some nice Iron for sure. [ not to mention age appropriate for my dating ] I had a great time Ferris & Co, lets do it again soon. From the porch, The Ol-dog (Message edited by oldog on October 08, 2006) |

Oldog, Great pics and memories! I haven't had time to resize anything for hanging here... just too much going on. It looks like we took many of the same shots so I'll do a little filtering on mine and just add the ones that aren't already somewhere on BadWeB. Every Memorial Day we take a spring ride to Franklin, NC. You're welcome to join us. We stay at the Franklin Motel and... you know the rest of the story. JB2 |

Quoted from OlDog: The walls are covered with humorous stuff, the one thing that I tried 3 times to photograph was the photo chop of "yoda" with a "doobie" saying, "fear leads to anger, anger leads to stress, stress leads to doobies, doobies lead to twinkies" ok I'm strange... Is this what you were looking for? Really cool pictures! Looks like it was a lot of fun. |
