I personally like it. There are better pipes as far as peak HP numbers. But for mid range torque(Were I personally ride) It is the king. Plus it sounds and looks cool. Plus the flat under belly makes it easy to jack up. Patrick |

I LOVE mine. People say it has no bottom end but I dunno WHY ANYONE wants to ride around at 2500 rpm anyway. It's got TONS of kick right in the meat of the revs right were corner strafing and knee dragging is fun. Ever tried that at 35 mph?(its MUCH more fun at 70-80) (Message edited by buelltroll on October 06, 2006) |

They are a bit rust prone. I just had to strip and repaint the elbow on mine. Other then that, I like it. |

Billybob, For a M2 they are only about 360.00 or so. I did not check your profile before I answered. Sorry about that. Everything else I said is true for a M2 muffler except the chin fairing mounts since the M2 doesn't have one. |

Billybob, I have one on my XB9SX...it works good. Especially the mid-range punch at 4000rpm! |

Billy, Yes, and those are the ones I have in stock. I put the D+D,race ecm and Buell race air filters on my wife's and Mother in law's bikes and they run great. They both ride XB9S bikes. The D+D is a good all around pipe for the street and backroads riding. The sound is the best sounding to me(short of a FORCE pipe). |

daves - can those 9's run without the race ecm and filter? i thought i wanted a drummer or a spec ops, but you saying that D+D is the best sounding pipe throws yet another wrench in my decision making... |

as long as you leave the air filter alone. Stock filter, stock airbox,no extra holes,no open airbox mods, then yes you can run just the pipe and most likely be ok. Many have done this with no ill effects. I would not, but that's just me. The D+D responds best to better breathing intake too. |

Had both they are both good in there own area's. The Drummer though is a more solid performing pipe across its whole power band. |

i get comments from sportbikers to harley "dudes" everytime i go riding...everybody is looking around for that sound...ive actually had the local buell dealership tell me its the best buell they ever heard....apparantly they never heard a force...as for the performance, the bike out performs me 5 to 1 so i guess i just love the sound....it turns heads for certain....i have some sound clips somehwere i can post up if you like or i can email them to you...pm me.. Get a Jardine! That was the funniest thing. The guy next door had a VTR1000 with twin loud pipes. He loved it, I said it was a little loud. He said you can't have a bike too loud.......until I got the Jardine. It drove him mad! It was even too loud with earplugs in so I sold it, but it was great fun for a few weeks! I need a new can now but don't want to break my original to turn it into a drummer. |

Jet-Hot quoted me.. The price to coat the 2to1 header , in&out with the sterling silver finish, is $120+s&h back. The 10% discount has been locked in, your reference number is Directly from the email I received. I am currently awaiting an updated form (due to some communication problems) before I tear mine off and send it in. |

Do you HAVE to drop the engine to remove the Header? |

danman,In short yes you have to drop the engine, long story, no you dont but its more trouble than its worth. Its not hard at all.I would reccommend removing the 02 sensor before unbolting the pipes as its pretty tight in hard to undo after the headers are free.On mine (04 model) that was the case. Doc |

Danman2540, I think on the xb9 you can go through the rear shock/fan and remove it that way ,BUT on the 12 you have to rotate the engine down for sure, BUT as Docktor said its really not that bad of a job to rotate it down really.... |

thanks for the input, I was thinking about the shiny coated header over the winter. Does anyone know if it can be done for sure through the fan hole, even if it does take a little longer? if so I'd rather not drop the engine. thanks |

I think that you can do it through the fan hole but you will have to remove the shock. I just rotated the engine to get to the back. It looks intimidating, but it's actually fairly easy when you get into it. |

Danman , seriously, dont even try goin thru the seat/fan. . find the aluminium engine stays, 1 at front , 1 of lhs of bike and 1 under fram near rear engine cylinder, undo them, drop oil cooler, dont remove oil lines, slap a jack under it and remove the front engine mount, thats the big nut under the head stem. Might be something I missed, I not sure, done it so many times I have lost count when I was doin the turbo on mine. but just lower the jack and listen and look for hookups. I still recommend removing the 02 sensor as you need to drop the engine what I call an excessive amount to manouver the pipes out with it on. I only drop it til i can reach the rear cylinder top exhaust bolt. When I re made my pipes I moved the 02 sensor to halfway down the pipe so it wouldnt be a hassle anymore. I dont see why you cant move it on stock pipes really either. With my amazing photoshop skills I circled it for you. Doc |

I don't have a comparison of two Buells with Drummer or D&D but I do have a video of my 12R and a friend's 12R with two different setups (we had just installed the Jardine on his): Mine (front) has: American Sport Bike open airbox K&N filter Directlink ECM map Micron serpent exhaust His (rear) has: K&N filter stock airbox stock ECM Jardine Here's the video Sam |
