what are our options for clip ons? I tried to order some supebike bars but I don't think the order went through and I think clip ons would be what I'm looking for. I look kinda funny on the highway with my hands at my ears

I know I should have bought a sportbike. this blast has become my moneypit I just want some handle bars that are real aggressive that will still allow me to lock the bike. I like the crossroads but 200 bucks is a little much for a hunk of metal

Dude - trust me when I say you'll like the Chapperal Superbike bars - the only reason my bikes do not have them any longer is because I want adjustability - but the superbike bars have served me well for over 4 years in black - the finish looks as good as new.

Concur! Try the $20 superbike bars first and watch ebay for some clip ons.
Unless you mount the clip ons above the top fork clamp you probably wont be able to lock the bike, except in an uncomfortable riding position.
The adjustable clip-ons are the way to go or adjustable clubmans or Laverda's.
The superbike bars can be flipped over for a clip on/clubman like look and feel, but I dont know if the steering will lock.

I'll argue that...I can and do lock my bike quite often and I have had Clipons for some time and my position is very comfortable Telefix Racers

Get the superbike bars, they are the bars the bike should have come with.

I have the super bike bars and love them. If I was a little taller I could adjust them so that I could lock my bars, but I am fine without locking them for now. There are a set of crossroads on ebay right now if you really want that route.

We have a decent bike bar here in town with 50 cent drafts on Monday, but I wouldn't call it a superbike bar.

I wrote "The adjustable clip-ons are the way to go". Aren't the Profi and Telefix both adjustable?

Telefix Profi and Telefix Racers are indeed adjustable
I missed the adjustable part of your post

And I should clarify-I found the non-adjustable clip ons to have tank clearance issues.

Yes - Tony's are 2 way adjustable, mine are adustable height wise/width wise with extra spacers - its like the difference between the Tomeselli handlebars and the Laverda/Jotto handlebars - lol - made by the same company though - Telefix - the spacers come in 2 sizes now and you can get them in Black and sold by 3 different companies - lol - including wildhareracing -

You'd have to adjust controls, however you can bring them down and forward a bit.

Do you know of any issues with installing the Buell Traction grips?? I am ordering the Superbike bars from Chapparal and the grips from Appleton. Anything else I am forgetting ?

The Traction grips are the bomb! I experimented with about 8 different grips on the red bike - never found any as comfy as the Traction grips, so now the red bike also has them - enjoy the bars - they really do the trick!

No - its pretty straight forward stuff, the clutch side takes brute force and the throttle side takes finesse - however, both are easily doable.

I found with the clutch side use a small plastic deadblow hammer and lightly tap the grip until it slide into position.
