Okay, so I'm headin home the other night, cruisin around for the first time at night, and lovin' it at the moment. As far as brightness, it's not so bad, I've had worse. However, i head into a Traffic Circle (they all head counter clockwise) and that's when i notice it, I can't see the left side of my road now. It's a triangle shape. A rather large triangle shape that rears it's ugly head on left turns. Scary. Wasn't ready for that. How do I fix that Problem? I even ran both lights, it was still there, not AS bad, but bad enough. There's got to be a better way, or better design than that, isn't there? Mark |

All frame mounted fairing/headlight bikes suffer the same problem to one degree or another. The sharper the turn the worse the effect. Some riders will mount auxiliary lighting to aid the situation. |

I'm sure there's built-in adjustment to point the low beam more to the left as needed. There are adjusters for both beams as you'll find when you get under there. More than likely though is that your low beam is suffering from the "deteriorated reflector coating" syndrome that's been reported here on BWB, resulting in your headlight just not putting out enough candlepower where it counts -- on the road, 2 seconds ahead. |

It seems to me that I had read a thread a month or so ago or i could have just been a thread 2 yrs old, I don't know. But to get to the meat of the coconut, it was about the Australian models having the third eye. I'm curious about how you would go about this, if you make the lower third eye your regular day time light/headlight and you turn the top two into the brights? How do you go about even getting this? Like I said, I know I've read a thread semi similar to this before and there's alot more geniuses out there than my lame butt. Any suggestions? |

Mark, Have you removed the "spoon" from inside the low beam lamp? Taking it out will remove this problem. "A rather large triangle shape that rears it's ugly head on left turns" |

GoWindWard.... Dude, just might be the SMARTEST person I have ever spoken to about any technical matter. You were bang-on right. I took apart the light, and there was the mighty beast itself, rearing it's ugly head!! I understand the principle in the spoon, but, man, like I said, there has to be a better design than that. But, KUDOS! I post... I get frustrated... I wait a few days.... I get even more frustrated.... Then BAAAMMM! Pure logic. "Remove the spoon" Amazing. Look, I know I'm going off about this, but that was awesome. It is like "night" and "day" now. GOWINDWARD- YOU RAWK!!! Mark |

Thanks! I have just been down that road and experienced that same problem. |

Now if there were only a spoon to remove on the XB S's . Do the factory engineers not ride these bikes at night ? Much less in rural off grid situations after the sun sets...? |
