Hey guys!I have a 05 xbs love the looks of the bike but always thought it looked small. Just my luck they came out with the ss the next year. After seeing some pics I think im gonna put the old cheesegrater back on the bike. Think it makes the bike look longer especially with a rider on. Wanted to ask opinions on any other mods a guy could do to beef up the appearance of a xbs. Thanx for the info! |

I get a lot of comments on my 9S looking so short but I like it. I think they look cool being so short. Most people think its a 250 or 500. Just enjoy being different. |

Longer Ss swingarm? Not sure what is involved, but that would physically and visually legthen it. Someone on here has an SS with an S tail section and it looks good. --Sean |

Would it be possible to put a ss tail on a s? Any ideas of the cost. New seat I guess too. If someone with an ss would like to Swap to a s tail if possible I would be game! |

How about this. This should make it look a bit longer. It might not handle as well though.

One thing you can do to make it look longer is to actually make it longer. Here is my XB12 S with two things that make it look longer. 1. Hal's competition Chain conversion swingarm which adds about three inches to the wheelbase. 2. The tail section from an XB12R replaced the Lightning seat.
You could skip the swing arm of course, and get most of the lengthening effect, while saving $2500. |

he should just cut holes in the airbox and put it back on. thats the only problem. it doesn't look good with all that crap hanging out. but otherwise....its not too bad |

I don't mean to hijack this thread but what parts would i need to do the opposite?! I have the XB12R and was considering trading in on an XB12Ss but if I could put the XBS on the front with some comfy handlebars would it look/feel the same?! Nate |

Is this like "Honey do these pants make my butt look big?" (...and Cereal, don't you get some serious heat off of that seat!!??) Does look like it has saved some weight though! |
