Are there any trouble codes put out by the ECM? Does engine light come on when this happens?

Check connections on the battery, they can look good but actually have some play. Wiggle them and make sure they are clean and snug.

Also pay attention to the routing of the wiring harness to the ECM right there under the seat near that battery post. It can work its way up and get an invisible nick on the sharp edge of that battery terminal connector. It can randomly ground one of the ECM wires (which does funny stuff).

Thanks guys. I did check the battery connections and they were a little loose but still wasn't running. The front plug was not firing so I replaced the plug and made sure the wire was tight. Ran great so I put the bike back together and started it up. Still missing so I took it back apart and checked the wires, plug and all the wires under the seat, again it ran well so put the bike back together and guess what? still missing!!!!!! Ok pulled the coil and tested it. Looked good and it started back up so this time I kept it running while I installed the air box base, filter, air box cover and tank cover. It still ran until I installed the seat. Looked at and moved all the wires around and kept installing the seat until I think I found the problem. The front of the shock resevoir was digging into one of the ECM bundles and looked like it had rubbed through one of the green wires. Taped and installed a rubber tube around the wire bundle. What a big pain in the BUTT!!!!!!! Well at least it was a pretty day and I was able to have a couple of beers and a few good cigars. Now I'll get cleaned up and take a ride to get a nice steak.Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Thanks for your help.
