Yeah, I don't think Jardine is the ticket for me. Larry and I are going to try to drill some new holes and replace the rivets. Maybe repacking and doing that will last for a little while till I can get some money together and decide which pipe I want to replace the Jardine with. So that being said the powdercoating should be back on, except the guy is not going to be in at Central for a couple weeks because he is out of town. I guess I'll be parked for a little while. |

It seems like negative Jardine posts popped up all over the place as soon as I bought one. And after all of the trouble I've had with it already, I certainly wish I had gone another way. If my xb came w/ a chin fairing, I probably would have. I received the seat and tail yesterday. Thanks JJ, Tim, and Duff. Looks good. I asked Dave for some paint that matched the rails, but he said that Buell doesn't sell it. WTF is up with that? I was planning on painting the bottom half black and the top grey, but now I'm not sure if I want the top to be grey if it isn't going to match the rails anyway. |

rob, most of us just painted the tail to match the color of our bikes. can't remember if you were around to see tim and jj's bikes, but they had a yellow tailpiece to match the plastics... james, yeah a repack kit is like $25 from jardine, pretty simple installation. me and larry forgot to wear gloves/long sleeve shirts so we were itching for a couple days (doh!) . gained back some power as well... |

Buell sells paint that matches the frame rails. You can get it in aerosol or quart form, I had a bud use the aerosol on a 12s frame and it looked really close. If you don't have any luck with the dealers, try Carrel Brothers Colors on North Oak - they can mix up some up. |

If you really need it I can probably get the part number for the aerosol, I used to have it, but I guess I deleted the that email. I'm pretty sure that my buddy picked it up at Topeka HD. |

Thanks for the info Groggy, but like Tim said, I'm in DC. I decided to just go w/ flat black for now. It's easy to remove and paint later if I decide to. What happened to your wrist? Check out Skyline Drive just south of Front Royal, VA. It's 105 miles of twisties about 60 miles from my house. I'm going to try riding it next Saturday. I'd like to take the XB but it's not insured or licensed. And the S1 needs brake pads badly. I definitely don't want to ride a mountain road with them. The Lightningbolt is just about done. The TPS is getting reset on Saturday. I’ll post some pics once I get the tail painted and mounted. |

Well it shouldn't matter where in the country you are, if the parts guys says that he can't get you paint-tell him that he is full of it. I guess that you could say that the wrist is getting better. I spent yesterday afternoon having a titanium plate and seven screws put in it. They are telling me that I'll spend the next month in a splint. Should get most of the use back but it won't be 100%. I stopped by to see the bike for the first time since the incident and couldn't believe how well it faired. Looks like an air cleaner assembly and a turn signal and I'll be back in business. Anybody up for planning a mid October ride, I'm not going to tell the Doc about it...... |

It was Dave Stueve that said they don't make it, and I'd be pretty surprised if he was wrong. It's the color for the rails under the seat on an S that he says they don’t make in aerosol. They do have the light and dark grey colors that match the frame on the 9 and the 12. Why did Buell make the seat rails a different shade of grey any way? I always found that odd. |

He's doing a jump in Dallas next weekend. check it out @ www.illconduct.com incidentally Erik Buell was on the front row of the world record burnout attempt that Jeff organized....pics on the web site. That was awesome! |

Jummpin Jeff, keep us updated, wouldn't mind hearing about the helicopter ride. Sounds like he may be in town soon, which makes me think another wild night is in the process. Alright time to go pass the out. |

I went to the races this weekend with the folks from Cafe Racer. The track in Hastings, NE is brand new. I got to see the XBRR from Blue Springs HD race there. Here are some pics:

I have a shitload more pics and some video as well. The pics are located here: http://picasaweb.google.com/lowflyer00/HastingsTrip That was my first trip ever to the track. What a blast! We are trying to put a small race team together at work. With some minor sponsorship activity, of course. The guy with the blue R6 in the pics is a good friend of mine who crashed his pristine '06-MY bike in the second race. The bike tumbled, but aside from a few zip ties and a handle bar, it was mostly cosmetic damage. He finished 3rd in the amateur class in the last race. You should notice another 'branded' '03 R6 in silver that belongs to another friend of mine from work. We all hung out with Matt Hall, Nick Spooner and a huge gaggle of the other local racer dudes. Way fun bunch of guys. I may be in the market for a dedicated track bike next year. |

Hahahaha!! I had to pack like that with no hard bags and having to bring tent, sleeping bag, foam mat, ground cloth, camp stove, fuel, change of clothes, rain gear, tools, knife, shovel, flashlight, lantern, small tarp, extra bungees, air compressor, fleece pullover, etc... The only electronics I brought was my Garmin GPSMap 376C with XM radio and XM weather. |

Dave, Try not to breathe the air over there. It's polluted. Seriously, one of our guys was coughing up blood for 6 weeks after a visit to that area. |

Well, now I can't remember if he was coughing blood or I may be mixing that with blood in the stool. In any case it's not good. |
