The clear Orange is exactly what I wanted to do to my bike and I was going to by the Valencia Orange tank cover to start, but thought it would look like crap with the other regular orange. Will they sell those pieces eventually? |

I think it must be an acquired taste. |

I like the red one better but no that's not for my Uly. I do think it's cool how Buell does the translucent thing with the Lightnings. I don't remember that ever being done on a stock bike before, to my knowledge. Just another example of the uniqueness of Buell. |

So regular XB wheels bolt right up? I'm assuming the red wheels are the same ones offered in the P/A catalog. |

I must say a translucid "Hero Blue" Uly would be quiet awesome. I'd like to see a translucid gray as well. |

Yeah, irrespective of color, just the simple change to a "regular" front fender is WAY better looking than the 'beak' fender. |

I like the tanslucid stuff, espicially the orange and red windscreens/shields, I bet they would look good on a black bike. Personally, I like the high fender better than the standard fender. Makes the bike look more "butch" to me. |

Is there a kit to support the headlight assembly if the beak is removed, I would like to do this to my Uly in the winter. The beak and the dumpy round fender are the only bits of it I don't like. |

The translucent blue sounds best to me, but honestly I like the dirt-bike'ish look with the beak... |

kinda dig the flames continuing onto the seat. Translcid smoke would work on my black uly. |

If you make a set of green translucent bodywork with green translucent BEAK front fender, I will buy it. Seriously, are those bodywork pieces the kind that have to be done with large production runs? |

I'd love to see someone photoshop a "Street Uly" as an S3T replacement. Maybe a lower Uly with bags, Hero Blue (or Cherry Bomb!) airbox, black CityX front fender (no beak), and black or Hero Blue or Cherry Bomb fly screen, no headlight grille. I think that would be a sweet bike for those who don't need the high seat height and off-roadability of the Uly. While I'd get a Uly in a second, I know some tuber owners who are holding out for the bike I described above. Anyone want to PS it? Thanks, --Sean |

All that needs is some powdercoated black wheels, and it would be perfect. (Message edited by sanchez on September 19, 2006) |

Very nice, I was thinking of the same setup. I like the driving lites. Question, isn't ORANGE still FASTER!?!? |

Everybody knows translucents are more aerodynamic Makes sense to me...you're not pushing as much light, it's free to flow through. |

Translucent is fastest, then Black, then Orange. Orange is the slowest because of the adverse reaction to reflecting light. It's Newton's third law. |

Translucent is fastest, then Black... No. Black is heaviest, since it absorbs all light and everyone knows heavy is slow. |

Blue translucent is definitely what I had in mind, what would the best way be to match up a flyscreen with it? And personally, I was thinking of either leaving the wheels as is along with the blue bodywork. and on mine the "beak" will definitely stay. Obviously at the start of the thread someone figured out how to do flyscreens in translucent colors, but are they "for sale" that anyone knows of? Just wondering... |

Heavy is not slow. The space shuttle weighs far more than the Uly and it goes faster than 18,000 mph. The nose of the shuttle is also black. They made it black to get more speed out of it. |
