hi guys, do any of the racers use a more angled & higher seated subframe? i pondered this tonight riding & thinking abt leg position. i am 5'9" but find that on balls of feet/toes legs ankles feel a wee bit compressed. so - aside from fancy aftermarket rearsets - i wondered the subframe question. thanks for any input. |

Shouldn't be too hard to weld in a couple of small extensions into the lower arms of the stock subframe. Problem then would be the stock seat unit wouldn't fit properly. Alternatively how about something like this:
Keeps the stock subframe but lifts the seat unit slightly. Also saves weight by getting rid of the stock saddle |

no offence meant matt .. but that is fugly dude! i LIKE seat foam to be bugger all, but that is all wrong!! infact - i may make my own subframe & fiberglass, as i can't find what i want. its for racing & most units seem to have a hole for the stock seat to fit in - its a heavy sucker by racing standards, so HAS to go! also, transferrance of body weight & pos'n will be MUCH easier w/ no foam - locally, i believe is was chris peris' yamaha's i saw w/ absolutely NO foam. just polished paint! make sense - how many racer's actually SIT on their bikes in a sprint, let alone complain of sore bottom??!! ;P i ain't near killing myself in gym & w/ diet to have a soft pad for my ass! pauly. |
